Emilio Tuñón Álvarez (1959) is an architect from the ETSAM in 1981, Doctor of Architecture in 2000 and Professor of Architectural Projects at the Madrid School of Architecture in 2016. In 2014 he has been awarded the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts for the Spanish government, the 2007 Mies van der Rohe Prize, the 2007 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture, the 2003 National Prize for Spanish Architecture and the 2001, 2007 and 2011 FAD Awards. In 2018 he received the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) International Fellowship 2018.
