TrueStory Africa is a documentary, photography and strategic communications agency based in Kigali, Rwanda, working across East Africa.
We help UN agencies, governments, development partners, NGOs, foundations and businesses show the people and results behind their work. Our team plans, films, photographs, edits and writes, so clients have one point of contact from brief to delivery.
We specialise in development and humanitarian storytelling: public health, education, water and sanitation, child protection, climate and agriculture. We work in English, French, Kinyarwanda and Kiswahili.
How we work: we agree the audience and use before we shoot. We photograph what happens and never stage scenes. Every identifiable person gives written consent, children are shown by first name and age only, and no AI-generated image is ever presented as real. Every caption and fact is checked.
What we deliver: documentaries and short films, photo stories, conference and event coverage, aerial footage, human-interest stories, impact and annual reports, communication strategies and social media content.
