Travis Companies began in 1998 with the creation of J.E. Travis Painting, Inc. John E. Travis initially ran the business while working out of a horse stall in a barn in Bracken, Texas. Over time the firm grew, moved into San Antonio, and in 2002 added a sister company, Travis Millwork, Inc., specializing in commercial casework and millwork.
