Vodafone Cook Islands is the leading telecommunications services provider in the Cook Islands. Product range offers core telecommunication services of fixed line, mobile, internet, postal and Moana TV (IPTV). Products for the home and individual users as well as corporate solutions to corporate clients (PABX, dedicated lines), international and national (long distance) calling services, prepaid calling cards, wifi / hotspots, e-charges services, mobile products and accessories.

To build a custom mobile app for our client's customers, providing seamless access to their IoT data. A key deliverable was developing a maintainable architecture, allowing our client's team to manage appwidgets without needing continuous support from mobile developers. 1) Custom Mobile App. A fully functional app, published on both App Store and Google Play Market. 2) Intuitive UI/UX. A clean and modern interface for a smooth user experience. 3) Maintainable Widget System. A flexible system for the client's team to easily update content. 4) IoT Integration. A secure and reliable connection to the backend IoT platform for real-time data.

What really stood out for us was the focus on long-term value - the team didn't just deliver a beautiful app; they built it with a maintainable architecture so our own team could easily manage the widgets and content without relying on 3rd party mobile developers. That's a huge benefit, as it means we can continue to develop and refine dashboards on our own.

Are there any areas for improvement or something ThingsBoard could have done differently?

The difference in time zones has always been a challenge for us in the South Pacific when working with professionals in other parts of the world. Fortunately, for this project, after the initial calls outside our normal business hours, communication with the ThingsBoard team was precise and clear throughout. This meant we didn’t need repeated after-hours calls, which made the overall experience smooth and efficient.

The first phase included:

The second phase included:

●     Customizable alarms

●     Automated reporting with 3rd party integration

From this project, we achieved clear good results:

No data loss anymore, thanks to persistent storage and automatic uploads.

We have continuous, real-time tracking for data.

We can now access dashboards 24/7 remotely and get instant alerts.

Alerts can be received in three languages through multiple channels, including WhatsApp, SMS, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and email.

The project management from ThingsBoard was very good. From the beginning, the process for development was well-organized and we worked together closely. This helped a lot.

They always listened to our needs and acted fast. If we had a problem, especially with integrating their services with other tools, they were ready to help and fix things in real time. This made a big difference.

Yes, they delivered items on time. Every stage of development was handled with much attention to detail, always making sure the solutions fit our system and goals. This helped us finish our projects on schedule and within budget.

What we found most impressive and unique about ThingsBoard was their way to be a truly reliable partner. It was not only about their technical skills, which are very strong. It was also how they worked with us.

They are very good at understanding our specific needs and then building a system that fits exactly what we need, not just giving a general solution.

Our overall experience was very positive. I can’t find areas that ThingsBoard could have done differently
