BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the PR and digital marketing manager of OPPO Nigeria. We’re the local branch of the OPPO smartphone and IoT device manufacturer. We distribute, sell, and market the products on the Nigerian market.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Team TERZi?

We were about to launch the brand in Nigeria and were trying to create locally relevant content that’d resonate with our target audience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Team TERZi was tasked with understanding our brand and creating appealing content for the average Nigerian. The deliverables were mostly video marketing content.

We worked together with Team TERZi from start to finish. We had brainstorming sessions on what kind of content we needed to create in order to penetrate the local market. They came up with a concept that tied with the hustle-and-bustle spirit of Lagos, Nigeria. They gave us concepts, scripts, and mood boards.

What is the team composition?

Femisire (Principal Consultant) was my main point of contact. He handled our project directly.

How did you come to work with Team TERZi?

As a new brand, we were looking for a flexible partner to work with. We looked at a few options, and Team TERZi was mentioned to us. 

How much have you invested with them?

Our first project with them was around $1,500, and the rest have been 30–50% of that value.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Team TERZi around May 2019. We work with them on a project-to-project basis and go back from time to time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Team TERZi has been very open to collaborating with us. We almost see them as an extension of our brand. They’ve been very flexible and involved in personalizing the project.

In terms of the impact of their content, we couldn’t talk about our success in Nigeria without mentioning Team TERZi’s work. Their video content has been very effective, not just in terms of appeal but in its impact on people.

How did Team TERZi perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re very open to collaborating and seemed like just another department within our company. Team TERZi is very hands-on and open to adopting communication styles that are different from theirs, in terms of new platforms and working across different time zones.

We’re a global brand and have to get approvals from colleagues in different time zones. Team TERZi has been very open to working with us. They’ve always delivered on time, and we’re happy with the quality of delivery. We’ve communicated with them over email, and we use Trello on our end.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s their willingness to personalize each project. Working with Team TERZi doesn’t feel like working with a contractor. They feel like an extension of our brand. They’re hands-on and willing to go the extra mile, which they’ve sometimes done at no extra cost for us. Their team is very willing to work with our budget, no matter how small. They look out to give maximum value for whatever it is we’re willing to commit to at the time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d like them to propose more ideas to us, going outside the scope we give them.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Anyone looking to work with Team TERZi should be open and honest with them. They’re a discreet group of people, so clients can be sure that confidentiality is guaranteed. If clients let them know what they need and what the financial limits of the project are, I’m sure that Team TERZi will work something out.
