Sherman L. Watson, Owner and President of Talon Acrylics, Inc., is the innovator, originator, developer, inventor and sole owner of all US and Foreign Patents and Trademarks associated with the compositions for Talon* and Revere® thermoplastic polymers.

Initial research and development began in 1984. Tests were conducted in the use of combinations of resilient polymers for lining complete and partial dentures and combinations of resilient polymers for TMJ/D interocclusal appliances. Finalization of research and development reveal toxicology numbers have a close identical chemical structure to methyl methacrylate. Hence, the superior bonding capability of Talon® and Revere® to methyl methacrylate without the use of adhesive agents. Following completed research and development and fulfillment of FDA requirements and US and Foreign patent procedures, Talon® thermoplastic polymer composition for TMJ/D interocclusal appliances was marketed first, beginning in 1992, with the addition of Revere® thermoplastic polymer composition introduced in 1998, for lining complete and partial dentures and other procedures as desired by laboratories.
