I’m the former logistics leader of an agricultural business.

What challenge were you trying to address with Taligent SA?

We hired them to create digital dashboards to automate the company’s processes. On top of that, we wanted to have more KPIs to improve our operations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

One of our most important projects with Taligent has been a dashboard that allows us to see real-time logistics information related to seed quality. This project includes data gathering from different freights. The data is linked to a server and the dashboard gathers the data and shows it to us in real-time, providing information such as vehicle location, arrival times, and shipment temperature. 

We’ve had several other projects, which are all related to the digitization of our business. For one, Taligent has built a platform that allows us to create inventory reports. We’re currently working on newer developments. 

What is the team composition?

We work with six people, including a development lead, a machine learning (ML) developer, and other types of developers. 

How did you come to work with Taligent SA?

I met Taligent through our company’s manager. He had a project with a logistics company, which recommended Taligent as a partner for the digital part of the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $30,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement started in June 2018, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The platforms that Taligent has developed have helped us immensely since we used to manage various processes by hand. In terms of efficiency, we’ve reduced the average waiting time for our trucks to 40 minutes, down from 12 hours previously. Moreover, our error rate has gone down to 4.5% from 40% previously. All of these improvements have translated into economic benefits for us and better services for our customers. 

How did Taligent SA perform from a project management standpoint?

Taligent has been highly professional. We have a set of sprints planned, and they’re all met in a timely manner. The team has assigned more developers to the project to meet our deadlines without increasing the original budget; they use the agile methodology. For communication, we have monthly meetings on top of calls, emails, and WhatsApp messages when necessary. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their customer service is outstanding, and they have great technical knowledge.

No, there aren’t any.

The fleet management dashboard project aimed to reduce operational costs associated with maintenance incidents, which had numerous issues with overtime and mileage reimbursements. By integrating data on incident tickets, GPS-tracked mileage, reported overtime, and fuel reimbursements, the dashboard pinpointed misuse in reimbursements and overtime requests.  Remarkably, the cost savings generated by the dashboard covered its expenses ahead of schedule.
