What challenge were you trying to address with Sytex Ltd.?

We needed IT support for our firm. We have a staff of 30–40 with high technology needs. There’s always something going wrong. We had a previous contract worker, and they didn’t work out well. They were always working on other clients, even when they were here on-site. We reached out to Sytex for a better IT experience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First Sytex pointed out a lot of things that our previous provider had just left hanging and unaddressed. They brought things up to me, instead of just fixing little issues as they arose. They upgraded some of our hardware, migrated servers, and have continued to provide great support. During COVID-19, they worked especially well. We had to quickly shift towards working from home, which is very IT-intensive. It worked well, and they helped us adapt at the pace we needed to.

We got a referral from an HR company.

We started working together in March 2018, and our work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since Sytex took over, things have been running very smoothly. We’re much happier overall. They do a great job of resolving our issues as soon as possible. If there’s an urgent problem, it gets addressed immediately. Overall, we’ve gotten a positive reception from our staff.

How did Sytex Ltd.perform from a project management standpoint?

We usually call, text or email to get in contact with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their breadth of services is great. With previous experiences, it’s very cumbersome when our contact doesn’t know about hardware or software sales, and needs to contact someone else. In contrast, our contact at Sytex knows a lot about several topics. If they don’t know about a topic, they get back to us very quickly. Overall, they’re a lot more knowledgeable than some of the previous companies we’ve dealt with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes communication takes extra effort since English isn’t our contact’s first language. However, they make up for that in enthusiasm and friendliness. It’s a very minor issue, and it’s easily overcome.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Invite them over to do an evaluation of your current working environment and take their advice. Some of the things they suggest may be long term goals, some may be immediate fixes, but they’ll point out solid IT improvements. There are a lot of IT risks out there, and they know how to manage a lot of it. You’d be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t take their suggestions seriously.
