I am the digital media manager at Sri Sri University. We're are located in India, and the university was established in 2012. We provide undergraduate and postgraduate programs. I take care of all our digital requirements, from the website and applications to new web development and software development.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sumeru Digital Solutions Private Limited?

We hired them to provide us with web development services for our university and digital marketing services for our college and hospital.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The website is based on WordPress, and all the payment-related forms were done in PHP. Sumeru has also created several payment integrations. They have also taken care of digital media lead generation for our college and hospital, driving leads from Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads. Finally, they're in charge of social media marketing for the college and hospital.

Another one of their tasks is developing a learning management model and a lead management model. Both have been of great help to admissions. They have also uploaded a lot of videos for our current students. After classes are finished, students can go through the videos and learn extra from their teachers and prerecorded tapes.

What is the team composition?

We work with two people from their team: our main contact person oversees all the web development work, and the other resource mainly contributes to payment gateway and PHP-related development projects.

did you come to work with Sumeru Digital Solutions Private Limited?

I got a recommendation from another organization that is doing pretty well with Sumeru and I wanted to explore them. We had different vendors already, but we went ahead and had a good discussion with Sumeru anyway. We went through the previous projects they had handled, and in combination with the recommendation we got from another organization, we were pretty pleased with Sumeru's showcased abilities. 

How much have you invested with them?

We have spent around 75 Lakh (approximately $94,000 USD) on the project so far.

What is the status of the engagement?

Our partnership began in September 2017, and it is still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Before working with them, our website had a large bounce rate, and the number of visitors was not that great. We especially had an issue with loading time; the look and feel of the website were not conducive to utilization.

Once Sumeru took over the project, we saw a difference in loading time. They've also done wonders for our bounce rate. Social media leads are pretty positive as well. 

How did Sumeru Digital Solutions Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great at sticking to deadlines and communication. We raise a ticket every time we have any requirements, any changes that need to be done, or any development work that needs to be done, and our dedicated resource takes care of it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team has good knowledge and a good grip over the technology at hand. They're also happy to stretch the time if there is an issue or requirement that needs to be taken care of. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The turnaround time could be a bit better, but they've improved a lot over time already.

Any advice for potential customers?

Please ensure that both parties have their duties spelled out to avoid unnecessary inconveniences and foster better execution.

For what projects/services did your company hire SUMERU DIGITAL SOLUTIONS PRIVATE LIMITED, and what were your goals?

We needed to build a loan application application for medical and non-medical loan applicants who seek for loans after going to Health Care Service Providers clinic.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We built a online application system which registers Health Care Service Providers and offers them it as SAAS product who pay monthly or percentage on the loan application amount. The application after filled goes to MCBUSA and brings credit score for that applicant and provides loan offers.

This is on-going project and it had Business Requirement Gathering, Design of Specs, Design and development of Database, Development, Testing, User Acceptance Testing. The tech is on LAMP stack Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP-CodeIgnitor, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

In different phases worked with Abhijeet and then BA's, Developers, Testers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As per our phases we followed Waterfall model and then worked on agile once the product was out in sub-sequent phases. The delivery was on target and with near bug-free system. Very satisfied with outcome.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Very transparent project management with no surprises. Timely demos, using email, trello, slack, whatsapp, sms, phone calls whatever applicable at that point of time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They've been able to understand the requirement and can develop me my dream product. They made it technologically possible which I could not do with other companies which I had tried earlier. They are experts.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There is always scope for improvement in all we do. The team is improving and learning and wish them best.
