We were seeking bold, creative front-of-bag concepts for The Better Chip, a line of tortilla chips made with real pieces of carrots baked into the tortilla chip. 

The design needed to evoke the themes of a rabbit (symbolizing the carrot and curiosity) and the moon (representing the chip’s round shape and celestial inspiration). 

This is a club-size bag (family-sized, pillow-style packaging) meant to stand out in the snack aisle and convey flavor innovation and quality.

Objective:
Develop compelling packaging designs for Barzini’s Limonata and Aranciata hard Italian sodas that authentically capture the spirit of Italy—its vibrant food culture, timeless style, and refreshing lifestyle—while standing out on shelves and appealing to a trendy, modern audience.

Project Scope:
The design work will encompass both creative concept development and final production-ready assets for the two product SKUs. The visual identity should evoke the classic Italian aesthetic with a contemporary twist, aligning with the Barzini brand's playful, stylish, and premium positioning.

Key Deliverables:

Creative Direction & Moodboards

Two to three initial creative directions inspired by Italian heritage, modern fashion, and Mediterranean lifestyle
Color palette, typography, and imagery references
Primary Packaging Design

Final can designs for both Barzini Limonata and Barzini Aranciata (355ml)
Unique visual treatments for each flavor while maintaining cohesive brand identity
Front and back-of-pack layouts, including all required regulatory and branding elements
Mockups

High-resolution 3D renderings for each product for use in sales decks, social media, and e-commerce
Print-Ready Files

Layered and outlined artwork files (AI/PDF) following dieline specs provided by manufacturer
Color specifications (Pantone/CMYK/RGB as needed)

Studio Zak won the World Brand Design Society award for the Barzini packaging design.

Studio Zak was incredibly responsive. Despite the time zone difference between Italy and Toronto, Canada, it felt like we were working with a team right next door. They combine global capabilities with exceptional artistic talent—truly a world-class design team.
