Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Jeevan's Studio Fra has a very structured approach to UX design. We were especially happy with the visibility we got into the thinking procedure and amount of user research that was put in.

The final output was helpful in getting early inroads into our customer base 'coz the product that came out was truly differentiated from the industry clutter and user friendly.

Please describe your company and your position there.

We were a small team of around 10 people, trying to make a dent in the Indian primary EdTech sector - Using humour to teach kids from grade 1 to grade 10. I was one of the co-founders and heading all product initiatives.

For what projects/services did your company hire Studio Fra?

After doing proof of concept while working with kids for over 3 months, we wanted to make the MVP product, which we could scale. While we had insights on the content piece, our design understanding was missing. We wanted to get someone who could help us with the design thinking and problem solving to build our product MVP.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to launch the MVP to learn how kids interact with our content in the long run. The launch would have helped us scale it from "bunch of videos" to "a cohesive experience".

How did you select this vendor?

We were very particular about who we can get our design from, given how important that would be to capture a child's attention. Things we were looking at:

1. Love for creating something impactful
2. Enough background and understanding on design thinking + experience on how to make a good UX

We spoke to over 10 different firms, were able to get 2-3 who would fit our bill; eventually went with StudioFra for their startup first approach and enthusiasm in the edtech sector

Describe the project in detail.

The project had the entire design process built into it. We only had the content, and the idea to weave that into a product. We started with the main problems/basic hypotheses we wanted to tackle in the MVP. It then moved from wireframes, to user research, to prototyping, testing it with kids, iterating and then getting the final output.

What was the team composition?

Studio Fra at that point was just 1 person - Jeevan. All our collaboration happened remotely, given that we were based off different cities.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Post the launch, we were able to scale from 50 users to over 1000 users using our product. It also helped us get a lot of feedback on where to improve both on our content as well as the next value adds for the users

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Almost all the communication was done remotely via Skype - given that we were based in different cities (Bangalore/Mumbai). While remote working has its own set of challenges, punctuality or lack of communication were hardly issues.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were dedicated to receiving input and producing output without a lot of follow-ups. Documentation and over communication on most aspects definitely helped - avoided the 2 and fro on many design processes as well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We could have saved some time on the communication in case, we were not working remotely.

I am the CEO and co-founder, responsible for product and business development. My company (Slang Labs) builds a framework for adding Voice Augmented eXperiences to any mobile or web application

We hired StudioFra for designing three things -

• The web console that is the primary entry point for our customers
• The design for the client-side experience that our SDK will provide
• The design for our website and occasional branding items (like posters)

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted an expert to come in and understand and empathize with our end-users and build a very intuitive workflow for our immediate users (who are developers) and also have a very simple and familiar end-user design for our client-side work

The console was used for our customers to enter their configuration details and also have analytics to understand how it was used. The client UI was part of the client SDK that will be seen by our customer's customer to talk to their apps.

My role was to work closely with StudioFra and describe the requiement and also finalize the final design. StuidioFra was responsible for coming up with design mocks that our engineers could use to build out the actual solution StudioFra was also responsible for asking the right questions and elicting the actual requirement from us to adhere to our overall design philosophy.

The vendor initially had 2 people and later it was mostly one

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The console design was very well appreciated by everyone who saw it. The simplicity and elegance of the design matched well with our philosophy. And it has continued to be the basis for our evolutions even now.

The client side design has evolved significantly and we have iterated after our relationship with the vendor stopped (it happened because we hired our own in-house designer).

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The vendor was part of our workflow. Ie he had an email id from our domain and was also part of the internal chat systems and task management systems. Also the vendor bought in changes like centralized repositories for keeping design assets over time to reduce back and forth.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with their ability to quickly understand our needs even though our platform was very new for our market and not many references in the market for similar ones.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The vendor was occasionally a bit adamant about his style. I personally appreciated that because we wanted his opinions as an expert and not just do what we ask. But sometimes I had to intervene during discussions with other team members.

We are building a social media platform for cartoon video content. Platform is on an app tweencraft. My position is CEO.

We hired studiofra for UI/UX improvement of our product tweencraft.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to improve the retention part and more the on boarding part. A very less no of people were able to understand the usage of application, on boarding was broken.

How did you select this vendor?

We reached our many vendors before hiring studiofra. One of contentious point of, we wanted agile like multiple iterative model instead of fixed no of iteration. Studiofra was a good fit for requirement.

once we finalized the formality we set together and discussed about vision and what we want our product to do , what problem we are facing. later Studiofra provided first model of design in very short span of time.

We kept the development and design in parallel. We discussed ideas at length and then implemented and tested them. Second part of project included branding of product. Which Sudiofra did from scratch. he design logo color theme etc.

What was the team composition?

From our client i was the single point of contact who would participate in ideation and approval meetings. From studiofra there were two people Jeeven as team lead and one more design employee.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

aesthetic wise our app improved a lot which is difficult to quantify. Our on boarding improved from almost 15% to 80% for one action.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

its been seamless. There were teams working independently and both the teams had single point of contacts which made it easy.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their ability to listen to and understand the client's thought process and limitations was a key factor which worked positively for us. Jeeven continued to provide us advises even after the project was over.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing much. We both being a small team could not arrange tester interviews for ux in large number. If some how studio fra can resolve this problem of ux testing availability it can help a lot.
