Our journey began in January of 1997. We thought Charleston might offer an opportunity for us to manage property, as there appeared to be a shortage of professional management firms in the area. Turns out we were right, and almost immediately we were given our chance, and we jumped on it. Success gave us reason to learn about the leasing business, and it taught us about how best to buy and sell investment properties. So we learned by doing.
