SMA Estimating LLC is a US-based construction cost estimating and quantity takeoff firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. We act as an outsourced estimating department for general contractors, subcontractors, developers, architects and owners nationwide, delivering bid-ready numbers in 24 to 48 hours.
Contractors bring us in for three reasons: they are chasing more bids than their in-house estimator can cover, they want a second set of eyes before a number goes out the door, or they need estimating capacity without the overhead of a full-time hire.

HOW WE WORK
Send drawings as PDF or CAD and you get a fixed quote and firm turnaround before work begins. Deliverables arrive in Excel, CSI MasterFormat, or your own bid template. Every estimate is reviewed by a senior estimator before release, and we stay available for revisions and addenda through the bid date.
Our estimators hold memberships with AACE International and the American Estimators Organization.

Our Story
SMA Estimating began in 2013 with three estimators off the desks of large general contractors. They had watched good builders lose bids to a missed scope or a stale labor rate, and decline work because nobody was free to price it. So they built the estimating department contractors could borrow. Today we are 100+: estimators, quantity surveyors, architects, schedulers. Unchanged since 2013: zip-code-level pricing, senior review on every number, and color-coded takeoffs traceable to the drawing.
