Established in 1978 by retiring partner Howard Sheldon, CPA, Sheldon & Xu CPA has proudly served the North York community for more than 40 years.
Today, Thomas Xu, CPA, MMPA, leads the firm as Managing Principal, carrying forward the tradition of excellence that Howard established. Thomas is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a Master of Management and Professional Accounting (MMPA) from the University of Toronto. He is a tax specialist who completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Program in 2020 and the Diploma in Trusts and Estates with STEP Canada in 2025, and is being awarded the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. He is also pursuing the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation, which he expects to attain by July 2026. The CLU designation is recognized as the premier credential for professionals who advise individuals, business owners, and professionals on wealth creation and preservation, estate planning, and wealth transfer.
With over 17 years of experience in accounting and taxation, Thomas brings deep expertise in tax compliance, tax planning, advisory services, and accounting. His specialized practice includes corporate reorganizations, succession and estate planning, remuneration strategies, and individual tax planning. He is particularly committed to providing tailored, strategic solutions for owner-managed businesses and their shareholders.
