Sellerdeck has helped us optimize our website, so all the pages have been loading twice as quickly. 

They've also been very helpful in managing our original document, and flexible in helping us achieve what we want.

They're generally productive from a project management standpoint, though most projects would drag on longer than the expected timeframe.

We typically communicate through Microsoft Teams, phone, and email.

The reason for our extended partnership is their personal approach.

They could maybe concentrate on one project at a time, as they tend to drag on whenever they're working on several tasks at the same time.

I’m a director at a retail jeweler based in Yorkshire.

What challenge were you trying to address with Sellerdeck Ltd?

We had a website from about 20 years ago that was really outdated, and many of our products weren’t live. The site hadn’t been updated in years, so we needed a brand new website revamped with a better UI and up-to-date technology.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Sellerdeck has redesigned our website from scratch. We gave them examples of sites we like, including competitors’ websites, for them to see the look and feel of our industry. As for our requirements, the site had to use our new logo and be easy to use. We briefed them on what we wanted, and they came up with the designs and worked with us throughout the process. 

From there, they built the site. While our previous site was server-based, they moved us to a cloud-based site. Currently, they’re engaged with us on a package for monthly review and assessment of the website. 

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with Josh (CEO), Jessica (Digital Marketing Executive), and another teammate from Sellerdeck. 

How did you come to work with Sellerdeck Ltd?

We were already in touch with them because they worked on our old site. Josh was really good at explaining what we could do moving forward and offered us a fairly competitive price for the website build. We were confident to hire Sellerdeck because they already knew our business and that we were stuck in the past. Although I looked for partners elsewhere, ultimately, we hired them when we discovered they could build the site as a cloud-based platform. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between £5,000–£10,000 (approximately $6,000–$12,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

This project started in February 2021, and we launched the website in November 2021. Currently, our engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our new site delivers at least one order per week; we weren't getting that before. Moreover, the site is updated and looks current. Sellerdeck managed us through the process and showed us how to drive the new website since I was very new coming into it. 

How did Sellerdeck Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

At the start, we had a teammate who was new to Sellerdeck I felt like I had to chase quite a lot, so we had a tough start in project management; this was a bit frustrating. However, I flagged the issue to Josh, and the team decided this person wasn't a good fit, so we moved on to someone else. The new teammate has been nothing but phenomenal. We communicate via email and regular catchup meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Since the second teammate came on board, I've been amazed by their ability to respond to emails consistently. I was on maternity leave at the time the change happened, so I could only work when my little girl was napping or in the evening. Often, I would bombard Sellerdeck with emails in the evening, and they would get back to me fast with straightforward answers either that evening or the morning after. Overall, they've been really flexible in scheduling our meetings to fit my needs. The new teammate is absolutely on it and very responsive — he's amazing to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As mentioned before, we had an issue at the start with a junior teammate being placed in our project. However, I understand that we're a smaller business compared to other companies they may work with. I should have flagged the situation a little earlier — since I realized we were getting behind — so we didn't lose momentum.

The process could have probably been faster, but we had a bit of bad luck with the junior teammate and issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, I don't blame them for the delay. In terms of how they handle things, they've been great since the junior teammate was replaced. 

Additionally, they could be more on top of our monthly review package to discuss how we feel about the site and the next steps to take. I would appreciate it if they kept progressing the process forward and took control of those meetings with me. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to develop a good relationship with Sellerdeck from the start. Get on a few face-to-face calls or meet in person if you can to get to know the people who'll work with you. If you have a good relationship with them, you'll see if you're on the same page and going in the same direction, and you won't have to go off course and then have to redirect.

I am the Sales Director at KJN Automation Ltd and we are one of the UK's largest suppliers of Aluminium profile and Accesssories in the UK. Offering turnkey and flat packed solutions to multiple industries such as Automotive, R & D, Universities, Electronics, MOD and many more.

We were looking for ways to improve our customers online experience and advice on how to become more prominent within the Aluminium Profile market. We were also looking and how we could improve and link in with our internal processes to streamline in as many areas as possible.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We considered a number of vendors but the deciding factor came from the passion that Sellerdeck brought and our research in deciding who would be the best fit for our company in what we were looking to acheive long-term.

They designed and developed a suitable platform using Magento that would compliment our product range specifially introducing a tool allowing allowing our customers to select more bespoke options. This in turn made the option to purchase from us more attractive compared to what our other competitors can offer.

The intergration with our Sage stock control system has resulted in continuous improvement in our interal process. Sellerdeck have continued to develop and suggest new improved ways of working which has made significant benefits in various departments within the company.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was launched and we received immediate postive feedback from customer. Increase in turnover has increased month on month and our database of new customers being brought on board has increased significantly.

Communications were made on a regular basis and someone was always on hand to support as we are not experts in this field and needed hand holding. Regular Teams calls and occasional site visits which was great as they were really interested in learning and having a better insight into what we do and our products.

Sellerdeck Ltd has great energy but at the same time, is methodical in ensuring the solution provided is correct.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Overall we cannot fault the service, any issues or niggles that are expected were always resolved quickly and efficiently so the impact was as minimal as possible. So in a nutshell not really keep up the good work.

We had the initial meeting then several calls regarding the proposal. When that had been accepted there were several meetings to discuss web development. This included every single part of our new website and training on the back office platform woo commerce.

We had 1 main point of contact who was Ben regarding the site development and Ben worked with several others to complete. We also had meetings with Josh and Dani regarding how we would be progressing forward.

We have had good feedback from customers but the site has not been launched long so unmeasurable in terms of sales just yet. We are happy regarding how easy our site is to manage.

Fantastic communication and availability from the Sellerdeck team. There have been a few face to face meetings but the majority of the time it has been through phone calls, zoom, or teams meetings.

No as everything we have asked for has been addressed.

Craft Source is an independent online retailer specialising in a range of fabrics for quilting and patchwork in various textures and patterns that can be purchased per metre. We're based in Nottingham and our products are marketed and sold under the Fabric Inspirations and Wool Felt Company brands.

We had a specific brief requiring various bespoke elements of functionality to optimise the usability for customers and admins. As well as improving UX and UI, the development was also necessary to increase revenue, helping us achieve the financial targets established within our five-year plan.
