BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the associate vice president of Rapid Grow Technologies, a software company. We develop different solutions for our clients on the integration and networking side.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with SciKit Brain Technovative solutions?

We needed to develop a piece of software for a client related to machine learning and AI. It’s a predictive model for an e-commerce client that provides recommendations to users based on multiple parameters (text- and image-based data). The solution will allow users to go to whatever website they want and make purchases based on model recommendations. Our technical team had some limitations in terms of developing good, smart AI software. We needed help from an industry expert.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re developing the software using .NET, Java, and PHP. They helped us with 90% of the project, including buyer preferences on our client’s e-commerce site using TensorFlow, image-based processing, AI, and machine learning.

What is the team composition?

We worked with people from the marketing team and sales team during the contract. There are around 30 people that we communicated with at some point.

How did you come to work with SciKit Brain Technovative solutions?

This requirement from our client was very new to us. I was searching online, and we found multiple companies. Rather than going with the big brand, we chose whoever was best in a specialized area. We chose 2-3 different companies, and, ultimately, SciKit Brain Technovative solutions because they are very specialized in AI and machine learning.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from October 2018 until September 2019. The client changed some requirements and paid for additional help. The enhancement was completed in January 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They have a very good technical team with various expertise. I was surprised when they made it easy to integrate these hybrid items because I thought it would be very difficult. They’re a very extraordinary team with strong communication, and they’re o very helpful in communicating with the client about technical visibility and how we can achieve it. They’ve even suggested better alternatives than we had.

How did SciKit Brain Technovative solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They followed an agile methodology and had standup meetings with our client. They developed the solution on a tight timeline and also kept track of where they were lagging or leading. Our team had access to track their progress as well. They always met the deadline.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had to set criteria to identify which item was an old item and which was the most recent item or a trending item based on images. This helps keep the solution’s recommendations up to date. SciKit Brain Technovative solutions set a tricky parameter based on the inventory, image, and inventory date that worked well.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I’d have them improve. They have limitations because they’re not a large agency but everything is fine.
