We engaged Sapphire Software Solutions to help us build a custom app to deliver a better experience for the users. Prior to that, we were using an existing app that we bought and customized a little.

Choosing to work with an offshore company, we anticipated that communication might be really difficult. After our first conversation with Sapphire based on the recommendation, we knew that Team Sapphire were responsive and responsible. We did evaluate a couple of other vendors during the process, but Sapphire’s price point was reasonable and we already had proof of how they worked.

Sapphire’s main goal was to build native Android and iOS app, and their work involved integrating some of the existing code that we had. The team started with the design phase. Essentially, we spent a couple of weeks, doing design iterations before we brought in their development team. Sapphire put together a comprehensive scope.

Once we approved it, they created the application; both front- and backend development. We have used Kotlin for Android app, Swift for iOS app and Backend with PHP.

There are 5–10 people working on the project: front- and backend developers, frontend designers, and an account manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

During our user testing, we’ve gotten very positive feedback on our app’s design. To be specific, people say that our app has a clean and intuitive design and offers a relatively smooth experience. On the technical side, Sapphire has been able to swiftly resolve bugs. Overall, we’re satisfied with their work.

We started with two meetings a week. Project management-wise, everything ran smoothly. The project manager have been extremely helpful and responsive when it comes to leading me to where things are they effectively manage everything. Above all, even though we’re working in different time zones, we know how to make things work.

Their speed has been impressive Sapphire has completed our app quick. More importantly, they’ve been able to integrate many features. Overall, I really appreciate how quickly they move because they allow us to save time.

Not particularly. I found the experience very positive

Sapphire's project management was amazing, they were very well organized. We had weekly or twice-a-week calls where the project manager went over the plan and the goals. They were able to figure out how to make things work within the budget and deadline.

What I can say is the end product is really good. The project manager was very responsive to emails and any issues that arose as we went along.

The developers worked for us five days a week, and according to our requirements, they built our application for backend processes, and dashboard to manage everything with a click, after which we also gave them future projects which included adding biometric for employee time and attendance analysis,for communication with parents SMS and email modules, taking online examination and assessments multiple choice and subjective based, parents to pay the pending fees from anywhere using online payment that will be directly credited to us, and virtual classroom added just recently owing to the covid times so that education to the students is not suffered in any condition.
