We were looking to find an agency asap, so I went on Clutch to speed up the research. I liked that the SaaS niche is at the core of Rocket labs’ SEO service and contacted them by submitting the form on their website. It took us less than one week from the first contact to the proposition through signing the contract. We were impressed by how quickly and effectively they provided all the information to make a decision-making process easier.

Rocket labs team is in charge of all SEO tactics and Content Marketing for our PR purposes. They worked closely with our team to improve more than 100 on-page and technical issues. Now, they are responsible for website auditing, link building, creating a content strategy, content plan, and copywriting.

There are 3 people directly involved in communications with us - CEO, CMO, and Content Marketing Manager. However, I’m not sure how many people are working on our campaigns in total.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our niche doesn’t have a lot of search volume now, so they suggested changing the way we describe our product on the website to capture more traffic from similar and neighboring niches where the demand of our target audience is present. As a result, based on Rocket labs’ guidance, we created 17 more pages describing our software for various niches in the e-commerce space. This boosted our total organic traffic by 580% (at the moment of writing) and tripled the number of demos we book. When it comes to content marketing and PR, for the last 6 months, they published more than 30 articles on reputable websites, which are bringing a lot of traffic, increases our domain rating, and drives our brand awareness.

They cover everything, so all that is required from us is to review and approve docs and budgets they prepare. We use our own web dev and design teams who are synced together with Rocket labs to receive specifications and revisions. As a CEO, I don’t need to manage these processes closely.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Even though the team has a solid experience in SEO, the Rocket labs company is relatively new on the market. Therefore, we were expecting to experience the bumpy project management process and micromanagement from our side. However, since we started working together, it was clear they know what they are doing. Now we just monitor the results and performance and sometimes provide help when they request it.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I’d say to keep the client more engaged during the strategy development process. I know they are experts, and that’s what we hire them for, but we felt a bit out of the decision-making process.

Our company sells products exclusively online, so we wanted to increase our search engines’ presence and grow sales from organic traffic. Three of our major competitors were ranking 2-3 times higher than us, so we wanted to outperform them and win more customers who simply don’t reach our website while searching for products.

We were introduced to the entire team managing our SEO campaign (Evgenia/CMO and SEO Strategist, Lora/Content Manager, Alex/Link builder, and Stan/Web developer). Our main point of contact is Roman, CEO. However, sometimes we request more information from different team members.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It’s been 7 months since we started our contract. Our organic traffic volume is 54% up, and sales from organic search have increased by 37%. This is way above our expectations which results in more than 1,000% ROI for our business. The team has started improving our website conversion rate, so hopefully, this will be another multiplier for our revenue.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They are well-organized with a suite of software tools, helping us stay in the loop and informed without having unnecessary meetings or email conversations.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Rocket labs team, especially their CEO, are very detail-oriented and conscious about our needs and goals. They are easy to work and communicate with.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Optimize the onboarding process. We had a few back and forth meetings internally with our team to figure out how and what type of information to share to maximize their level of understanding of our business.

After experimenting with a few online marketing channels, we concluded that search engine optimization could be the way to improve our online visibility and generate more leads.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to increase traffic from the US market on the website and convert them into new leads. Additionally, our content wasn’t performing well, so we looked for a new content marketing strategy to increase awareness and drive demand from external trusted websites.

We used to work with a few agencies before, which were taking too long to bring results. After getting tired of never-ending excuses, we started looking for another one through LinkedIn. Rocket labs CEO came across our LinkedIn post and reached out to me with the offer to jump on the discovery call. After a few calls and negotiations, we were convinced to start the contract. After five months of cooperation, I can say that this is the first SEO company fulfilling my expectations.

For the SEO part, the Rocket labs team has started with the website audit and competitive analysis to identify initial opportunities and critical errors. Based on that, they created specifications for our dev team to implement the fixes and build a foundation for the following SEO tactics.

After that, they were heavily focused on keyword research and link-building strategies to outperform our competitors. For Content Marketing, the Rocket labs team has created a solid content plan, outreach campaign, and HARO publications strategy. They also have a copywriting team which we took advantage of.

What was the team composition?

As to my knowledge, there are five people involved in the process - SEO Strategist, Content Manager, Link Building Expert, Web Developer, and Copywriter, not including the CEO who is always in touch to make sure we are happy with their services.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After five months of working with Rocket labs agency, our monthly organic traffic is almost 150% higher. We were also blown away by the content marketing initiatives. Our content barely had any views, but now we have a constant demand flowing from the case studies and whitepapers we create with their help. We also see the impact of organic traffic on the number of leads and sales.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They always keep us in the know with their plans, interim goals, and deadlines. They provide very easy-to-understand and transparent reports every two weeks and always go the extra mile to keep up with deadlines. The communication sometimes takes longer than I expect, but results speak for themselves. So no complaints here.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The level of transparency of the team is something that I haven’t seen with anyone before. If something performs not as expected, they always let us know and suggest how to make it work better or avoid it in the future.
