    We're especially excited about projects where we can be involved early — inventors with a concept or sketch, founders with a rough prototype who need help getting to manufacturable, and established companies expanding their product line with new SKUs. Consumer products, hardware for startups, assembly services, and DFM-heavy mechanical projects are our sweet spot. Project sizes typically range from $5K quick prototypes to $25K+ multi-phase product development engagements. If you're unsure whether your project is a fit, we offer a free consultation to talk it through — no pressure.

    We deliberately keep our active client count small so every project gets real engineering attention — typically 4-8 active engagements at once depending on phase and complexity. This means when you call or email, you get a fast response from someone who actually remembers your project, not a generic account manager. It also means we sometimes have to pause new client intake if we're at capacity — in those cases, we'll tell you upfront rather than overcommit and under-deliver.

    Success for us is when a client's product actually ships — not when the invoice gets paid. That's why we stay involved through manufacturing, not just design. Beyond that, we measure success in three ways: technical success (does the product work and meet specs?), economic success (does it hit the cost targets required for the business to be viable?), and client success (are they confident running their business afterward, or stuck depending on us?). Our goal is always to leave clients fully self-sufficient, with all their IP, files, and manufacturer relationships in their own hands.

    You do. 100%. This is one of the things that most differentiates us from other product development firms. Every client keeps full ownership of their design files, CAD models, prototypes, manufacturing drawings, and any IP developed during our engagement. We don't claim portfolio rights without explicit permission, we don't reserve the right to reuse design elements for other clients, and we don't require ongoing licensing. When our engagement ends, you walk away with everything — and can take it to any other manufacturer or developer you choose. Always.

    Every engagement starts with a free consultation — usually a 30-minute call to understand your project, timeline, and budget. From there, we provide a written scope and quote with clear phase breakdowns. Most projects move through four phases: (1) Concept & Design — turning your idea into CAD and initial sketches. (2) Prototyping — building functional prototypes to test and iterate. (3) DFM & Refinement — optimizing the design for cost-effective manufacturing. (4) Production — running first production batches and handing off documentation. You approve each phase before the next starts, so there are no surprises.
