DECA specializes in acquiring games from other developers and reinvigorating them to continue to entertain for decades. When other studios see an old game, we see a fantastic set of problems to solve and a huge opportunity. DECA is a remote company with over 290 people in over 31 countries globally. DECA has been profitable since our inception in 2016. DECA is also a part of the Embracer Group, the largest public gaming company in Europe.

I'm the COO of Beespeaker, a tech startup. BeeSpeaker is one of the few language learning apps that puts emphasis on speaking – after all, communication is the most important thing! This natural teaching method, which involves talking to foreign language tutors, will bring results in no time.

The project consisted in recruiting 4 experienced software engineers.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

I've had the pleasure of previously working with members of the Remoted team. I opted to collaborate with Remoted since we had more significant recruitment needs than we could handle internally.

Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.

The cooperation consisted of signing a simple contract for the provision of services. Briefing Call with the Recruitment team to define the needs and profiles of the candidates we were looking for. Reviewing the candidates delivered and scheduling the interviews. Fulfilling our recruitment needs and settling the service after its implementation.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked directly with the representative of the Sales and Recruitment department.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

Collaboration with Remoted successfully fulfilled our hiring needs by top-notch engineers joining our team. The process was efficient and professional. We worked closely with the Senior Recruiter and Sales Representative throughout the process, gathering information from the current market and engineers' expectations and reviewing delivered candidates that were successfully invited to further interview stages and securing the positions. Communication took place through emails and bi-weekly meetings to discuss candidates in the pipeline, including feedback and/or potential inquiries from the candidates.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

As mentioned previously, I hugely enjoyed working with the team. Having direct contact with the person responsible for the recruitment process kept us engaged, and we felt looked after. The recruitment team had a professional approach from the beginning of the process to the end, taking full ownership of the whole recruitment life-cycle. Thanks to the professionalism and efficiency of their work, we were able to hire relevant programmers to our company that enjoyed the whole process and own a positive candidate experience.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

One of the most impressive factors to bear in mind is a good understanding of the market and salary brackets that should be offered for the candidates depending on the country and their seniority level. Knowledge of our needs, cultural fit, and a mix of soft and technical skills that we were after. Moreover, the approach towards the candidates who praised the process and had a positive candidate experience which is deeply important for us as a company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

So far so good.

I've had the pleasure of working with part of the Remoted team in the past. Since we had more recruitment needs than we were able to handle with internal employees, I decided to try cooperation with Remoted.

The cooperation consisted of 4 main elements. Signing a simple contract for the provision of services. Defining the needs and profiles of the candidates we were looking for. Recruitment interviews with delivered candidates. Settlement of the service after its implementation.

We worked directly with two people: the client's sales representative and the senior recruiter responsible for our project.

Thanks to the cooperation, it was possible to acquire employees for all the necessary roles. The cooperation was efficient and effective. Communication took place through online meetings and emails.

As I mentioned earlier, everything was fine. I really liked the direct contact with the person responsible for recruitment. Efficiently, quickly without unnecessary bureaucracy.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Good understanding of the market, rates that should be offered to candidates depending on the position, seniority and country from which they work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some roles are really demanding and you don't always get a good candidate in a week like they try to do. However, here I would blame the difficult market in 2022 more than the process itself or the involvement of Remoted consultants.
