I am the communications officer of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Reelmedia Film Ltd.?

We hired Reelmedia Film Ltd. to manage a communications campaign for our organization. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Reelmedia Film Ltd. created and managed a UNESCO global communications campaign called Generation Ocean. It was an extensive digital marketing campaign that included press, social media, and web design and development components.

Their team developed the entire campaign from scratch, starting with developing the campaign's identity. That process included creating branding guidelines, content, and messaging that they then sent to my team to approve. After approval, Reelmedia Film Ltd. implemented all of that information into the WordPress website they developed. Their team then ran maintenance and cybersecurity for our site. 

Reelmedia Film Ltd. then expanded the campaign on social media, leading marketing campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok.

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact was the project director, but we worked with a team that consisted of a content lead, social media marketer, graphic designer, web designer, and media partnership specialist. 

How did you come to work with Reelmedia Film Ltd.?

We put out a UN procurement RFP on the UN Global Marketplace and selected Reelmedia Film Ltd. 

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent $150,000 with Reelmedia Film Ltd. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Reelmedia Film Ltd. in September 2020 and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The campaign was organized into two projects, and since we only received funding for the second project recently, none of the work Reelmedia Film Ltd. completed has gone live. The campaign is now set to go live in February 2022. 

However, I am 100% satisfied with Reelmedia Film Ltd.'s work for us so far — they've exceeded our expectations. 

How did Reelmedia Film Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

Reelmedia Film Ltd. was very good at scheduling and flexible with our changing timeline. They met our deadlines and communicated well — we had weekly meetings to discuss content creation and had regular Zoom calls and emails. They utilized Dropbox to share content. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Reelmedia Film Ltd.'s strong point was their ability to communicate our message to an international development audience — they have a lot of experience running campaigns for the international development community, and it showed in their work.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

Reelmedia Film Ltd. could've solidified their internal staff — because they're a smaller company they hired based on project needs, which negatively impacted us when we started the second package with them. While the team was still competent, there wasn't much continuity between projects. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Potential customers need to be prepared to be taken out of their comfort zone of preconceived marketing ideas — Reelmedia Film Ltd. is very innovative and thinks outside of the box when it comes to what is going on in the market.
