OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Red Iron Labs, and what were your goals?

We met with 4 companies, and selected Red Iron Labs as they showcased the best quality simulations and surprised us with LMS integrations

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We ranked the 4 competitors side-by-side. Red Iron Labs came in higher in cost, but their quality was at the front of the 4 competitors - and the LMS integration decided it for us.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The project ran for 4 months, with our school taking over the simulations at the end. It was built for the Pico Neo 2's, which we now use to educate 30+ students in our virtual labs.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had contact with 7 or 8 folks from the company at various points, but primarily through their creative lead who led through the project. For example they had a 3D animator, someone overseeing our motion capture, and a voice over artist as well. We also met the owners, which was comforting.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The experiences are the best we've seen in the business, and were designed to run our programs remotely. Students and faculty love the program.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

I didn't get into their project management as much, they have a process for this.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Quality. They sent staff on-site to ensure it was delivered and useful to actual students. The work is photo realistic. They asked us to provide a recommendation on here if we liked the work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It is challenging sourcing certain hardware, such as the Quest. This resulted in us using the Pico 2's, which wasn't as ideal. But this may be more of a meta problem.
