What challenge were you trying to address with PPI Graphics?

We hired them for print communications. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We printed and tried to print in-house, but when we needed to do more, we hired PPI Graphics. The team has the technology and ability to print higher quantities and quality than we could do. The team has printed postcards and other similar things. The main service that we’ve been trying to promote is our lawn care services. 

They also create graphic designs for us. Our sales rep is well-versed in mailing and postal regulations, so as I come up with concepts or ideas, that person helps me tweak things and lets me know what we can do on the design side. That way, the postal service will not reject or charge us more. 

The process starts with us sending an image we want to use and the PPI Graphics team lays it all out. Sometimes, they also assist in writing copies. They also send it to the post office for us. 

What is the team composition?

We’ve consistently worked with two people, the owner, and the sales rep. We probably work with their sales rep 90% of the time. 

How did you come to work with PPI Graphics?

When I came on board, we’ve already used them for certain things. Then, we ramped it up once we had more marketing, mail campaigns, and printing needs.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably spent close to $1 million, if not more.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 1996, and we’ve been working with them ever since. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve helped us to have better print materials and communication with current customers. Additionally, they help us save some money by making us more efficient with all of our mailings. Their knowledge of the print and postal regulations has been really helpful.

How did PPI Graphics perform from a project management standpoint?

PPI Graphics performs really well when it comes to project management. They send us a lot of proofs, and they come into the office to layout and sketch things out. Then, we provide them with feedback, and if there are any changes they need to make, they’ll send it back again for approval.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their thoroughness has been impressive. They take everything from concept to delivery. We start with an idea and a blank sheet of paper, and they take it all the way through the mail or print process. The whole thing is just really comprehensive and they do most of the legwork.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I think they do everything really well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Embrace their suggestions and ask a lot of questions to make things better. Be open to working outside of the box to improve your print, image, and brand.
