What was the scope of their involvement?

We started by discussing our goals and broad information about our business and strategy. During this discovery phase, we were focused on building a data-driven approach. Power Digital runs our Facebook and Google Ads. The team also creates advertisements and has made a content calendar for us. They’ve run our SEO efforts in the past, but we’re primarily focused on our paid advertising efforts.

We work with about 5–6 individuals; this includes an account director, a manager, and a Facebook and Google strategist.

We found them through a referral. We engaged them through a normal RFP process, and we ultimately decided to move forward with Power Digital.

We started working together in July 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

Our important metrics have increased since we started working together; some important metrics for us have been marketing metrics and ROAS. They consistently provide us with excellent quality work. 

How did Power Digital perform from a project management standpoint?

We have very active discussions via Slack and email. The communication is structured, and we consistently set new targets and work backward on how to hit them. We communicate where we are on our plans on a weekly basis and adjust when needed. We’ve been very impressed with their project management skills.

The team is very data-driven and strategic in terms of business. They aren’t just a marketing vendor; they have a holistic approach and help us think through ideas like product operations and how they interact with marketing. They’re a trusted partner and levels above other vendors.

There’s nothing we can come up with. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Create a culture that allows Power Digital to perform at their best. They’re very knowledgeable, but you must create a space for them to present their ideas. Let them challenge you and your ideas because that’s when you’ll have the most transparent dialogue.

I’m the omnichannel channel development lead at Catalina Crunch. We’re a consumer packaged goods (CPG) startup in the cereal and snacks grocery category.

What challenge were you trying to address with Power Digital?

We were working with a different partner for our Amazon and omnichannel business but felt that we had plateaued with them. We were looking for a new agency partner to help with the day-to-day management of Amazon and other omnichannel paid search efforts and also to help with strategic planning.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Power Digital consults on our marketing and online sales strategy. We started by having them manage our Walmart and Instacart online advertising. Then about five months later, we transitioned our Amazon business over to them as well. We haven’t provided them with documents, but we’ve had multiple conversations explaining our gaps and hopes for the partnership.

What is the team composition?

The engagement started with one salesperson. Since then, we’ve talked with 3–5 teammates, usually 2–3 at a time. Power Digital wants to make sure we’ve been introduced to everyone we’d potentially work with.

We began working with them in October 2021, and we’re still working with them.

We have a mutual investor who mentioned Power Digital to our founder and CEO. We looked into three or four other potential partners but landed on Power Digital.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m really happy with what Power Digital has done; from May 2022–December 2022, we saw month-over-month (MoM) increases in Amazon sales. During major tentpole events in 2023, they’ve worked with us to put together great all-inclusive plans. For example, we had a stellar January due to our “new year, new you” campaign; this led to a really great February and March.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

Power Digital is great about staying within the parameters of our budget and checking in regularly to communicate if we’re overpacing or underpacing. They do a great job of hitting the deadlines we set.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

The whole team has been really great; they’re a huge part of our success. Joe (Managing Director, Creative Services) leads the team, and they all do a great job together.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The biggest difference I’ve seen with Power Digital — aside from Amazon sales growth — is that they’re a true partner; I can tell they care about our business and our growth. It’s hard to find a partner that feels like they’re truly on your team as opposed to just a third party you’re working with.

I’ve had a great experience with Power Digital, and when we’ve run into hiccups, they’re really open to transparency and feedback. I feel comfortable bringing up areas of opportunity, and they’re willing to pivot as needed.

No, nothing stands out.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

In general, it’s important to be really transparent with third-party agencies and provide your partner with guidelines, parameters, and expectations. Having a great communication flow to make sure everyone’s on the same page has made this partnership really successful. I give Power Digital KPIs and benchmarks, which allow them to do their job efficiently.

We've been working with Power for many years, and the scope of the work has changed over time.  We initially hired them for help with SEO.  Our website was not ranking well, and sales were low.  During the first few years, they help optimize the site, link building to other complimentary sites, social media content creation and scheduling, some ad word work on Google, blog topic creation, competitor analyses, suggestions and delivering site updates, GMB optimization, etc.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measurable outcomes that we look at are the number of booking and revenue we've collected throughout the years.  Since the start of the project, the amount we were paying for Power's services was not going to allow us to cover 6 months of payment and expenses, and after they started, sales started to climb.  Sales have climbed about 20% each year, with some years exceeding 40% from the prior year.

They exceed all expectations on our project deliverables, and even go further to make adjustments to our plan and scope of work when things get stagnant.  Management is stellar, and it's the main reason we continue to work with them.  Not to mention, we feel as though they truly have the best interest in mind for our small business.  They respond promptly, and don't take long to answer questions or to our requests.

The most impressive quality about Power is their attention to detail and their customer service.  We've had only a few team members work on our projects, and each one showed a true passion for their work and their company.  The team is very insightful, smart, swift, and easy going.  It's apparent that the internal management is paying close attention to their employees, and guiding them so that they are staying on top of trends, updates and the health of our website and reputation. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Power Digital could have done differently?

We've had wins and some losses while working with Power.  The wins outnumber the losses, however.  We were bummed when our PPC campaigns didn't work, or when the CRO team updated some elements to the website, and we didn't see much from that work, or when Google updated their algorithm and it set us back quite a few spots on keywords.  But, I'm not sure that any of this was in their control.  They pivoted fast, and made changes immediately.  The wins, however...we keep growing, and each year has been the best year yet since 2022 - after the Pandemic.

We are presented with monthly reports that clearly demonstrate upward movement in all areas in which we are working with them, including ROAS, revenue and rankings. Their efforts in key areas including Google advertising, YouTube advertising and search engine optimization are proving to be successful, helping our business immensely, in this saturated marketplace.

They are sharp in their recommendations with regards on what needs to be adjusted and what can continue to be tested (i.e. what's working), and we have the utmost trust in them.

They are always very responsive and attentive to our needs. They go above and beyond to support us in every aspect of our partnership. Power has implemented a more successful digital marketing strategy than our original one. They’ve delivered excellent quality work and made the most out of our marketing dollars. Their efforts have facilitated hundreds of media placements and increased our website traffic exponentially. Our email marketing efforts have improved significantly; we’ve reached 5,000 subscribers over a few months and increased our click-through rate. 

We’ve also seen a fantastic return on our paid social media advertising year-over-year (YoY). Not only have we been able to reach more people through social media, but Power has helped us effectively target our audience, which is a much more efficient use of our budget. Our partnerships team has secured 6 co-branded promotions, and we’ve set up more heading into next year. 

How did Power Digital Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Power has been a very thorough, organized partner; they’ve delivered everything on time and within budget. The team has orchestrated a seamless, streamlined communication process. Their cross-team communication and synergy have blown us away; I’ve never seen a team work so well in tandem with one another. 

We’ve met weekly and reached out to our account manager via phone and email in between meetings; they’ve been very open and responsive throughout. When we’ve shared feedback, the Power team has rolled with it and held brainstorming sessions for how best to implement the changes. They’ve not only accepted our ideas, but they’ve also improved upon them.

If you're looking for one team to take over your digital marketing efforts and serve as a collective unit for all your marketing channels, I’d highly suggest working with Power. Dedicating your marketing budget to Power will be much easier than engaging several partners and dividing their responsibilities.
