    It’s human nature to try to soften bad news and within agencies, it’s almost instinctive to go into damage control mode as quickly as possible: heavily contextualise the drop in performance, bury it in a slide with two or three bits of good news etc. The reaction is understandable in terms of risk management but ultimately the discomfort of having that conversation now is almost always smaller than the cost of not having it. And more than that – it puts both the agency and the client in a much better position to adjust the strategy sooner, improving performance long-term. At Post, reporting is clear and to the point. We focus in on what matters most, not what reflects best on us. You’re paying us to deliver a service, not protect the retainer. That’s not a particularly comfortable position for an agency to put itself in but in our experience, clients who are kept in the loop make better decisions faster than those who are kept in the dark. It’s your data, you’re entitled to see it all.

    There is no limit to the number of clients but whilst it’s just the two of us, we have committed to never booking more work collectively than we could handle individually. That means that if one of us is sick or needs a break, the work is always being done. This provides a number of assurances to both us and our clients. It means that every task has the space to be carefully considered and executed well. We’re never just fighting to get through our to-do-lists. It means that we never feel overwhelmed or stretched thin - making us happier long term. Less ratty = more motivated. And it means that we’re comfortable leaving money on the table. Financially speaking, this approach means we miss out on total hours. We know that and have baked it in. We need to earn enough so that neither of us are up past our bedtimes wondering how to pay our bills but beyond that, the number gets less interesting. Maximising profit isn’t even on our list of priorities, and if it were, it would be so far below wellbeing & performance it would say ‘g’day’ every time we looked down.
