Our Story

pixelreflex MEDIA is a woman-led and Latino-owned video production and commercial photography company in San Antonio. Since 2001, we have told real people's stories for nonprofits, schools, public agencies and businesses, in English, Spanish or both. People remember a person long after they forget a statistic, so we find the people who live your story and let them tell it. Steffi Ockenfels and Carlos Javier Sanchez lead every production.

What Sets Us Apart

A little homework comes first

In 25 years of telling real people's stories, we have learned what makes a story stick. We share it in pre-production as a short worksheet. Your answers shape who we interview, what we film and how the edit comes together.

We meet your people before the camera does

Steffi talks with each person we plan to interview, with no crew and no lights. For them, shoot day is the second conversation. They already know us, so they can relax, and we already know their story.

English, Spanish or both

Our team is fully bilingual, and we build English and Spanish versions into a project from the start. Captions come standard with our editing, in the language people speak in the video.

Documentary-style videos for nonprofits, schools, public agencies and businesses. That includes brand and overview videos, impact and donor videos, testimonials, recruitment videos and event recaps, in English, Spanish or both. We also produce commercial photography and can shoot video and photos on the same job.

We start with four questions, whether it is one video or a full campaign: Who is it for? How will it reach them? What should it tell them? What should they do after watching? We answer them with you during discovery, then move into pre-production. Our online pre-production guide walks you through your audience and message, interview subjects, content, shoot locations and B-roll. Steffi pre-interviews each person we plan to interview and sets the production schedule with you.

You hand us the goal, not a shot list. One team handles every step and you have one point of contact, so nothing gets lost in a handoff. Steffi and Carlos lead every production and bring in experienced directors of photography, camera operators, gaffers and sound engineers as the story needs. You review the edit in a private online review portal.

Our video packages start at $6,000 for a Spotlight video. A Signature Story starts at $15,000 and a Story Campaign at $30,000. Qualifying 501(c)(3) nonprofits can start at $4,500 with our Impact Story rate. Price depends on the shoot location, duration, editing complexity and any added services, and every project is custom-scoped on the discovery call.

A Spotlight video is delivered about a week after the shoot. A Signature Story takes about two weeks, and a full Story Campaign about three. Event coverage can turn around same day or in 24 hours. Same-day delivery carries a 20% rush fee, and next-day delivery 10%.
