PILLAR Creative is a creative, communications, and marketing agency based in Arlington, Virginia, and at work across the country and around the world. PILLAR works with institutions, brands, and the leaders who represent them.
PILLAR is built on an idea that has always been possible but rarely practiced: that an agency should be structured to serve the work itself. The people on each engagement are excellent, deeply vetted, and curated to the work in front of them, and the people who pitch the work are the people who deliver it.

Our Story
Eddie Kaufholz spent seven years at International Justice Mission, then led strategic communications at Bread for the World. He kept thinking about a different way to run an agency, and in 2024 he started PILLAR as an experiment to test it. The experiment grew faster than he expected. Today PILLAR runs on a curated bench of vetted creative, communications, and marketing practitioners, and the people who pitch the work deliver the work.
