Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Phoenix led a full Transformational Leaderahip Event for our Executive Team along with follow up personal one on one and group coaching sessions. We now affectionately call this the 1st Generation because with their help we have ourselves led the same program to the 9th Generation of managers in our company, so far. We already have plans for launching the 10th. It is powerful that the program is now facilitated directly by our executive staff.  

The work we did with Phoenix significantly improved the leadership and management capacity of our executive team and subsequently, through our continued delivery of the program to all levels of management, altered our culture in a significantly positive way. It has increased transparency, trust and collaboration. It has streamlined and focused our meetings to be more productive and useful.

It has helped us to address long standing "elephants" in the room removing legacy issues thereby improving employee relations and satisfaction.  Culture change is difficult to be sure, even enigmatic, but Phoenix has developed a methodology that works.

Employee satisfaction, alignment to mission, engagement, inspiration, and ownership. Our leadership has found courage to be candid and honest about challenges and barriers in constructive ways and is open in seeking collaborative answers utilizing the skills and input from their peers.

Projects were delivered on time. In fact, we found they held us accountable to our lack of delivery at times.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It wasn't a two week program with a big binder that lands on your office shelf and collects dust. It was so valuable, what we learned, that we incorporated it into our everyday language and activity. And it was ours to begin with, so it wasn't difficult to "assimilate" into our culture. 

Plus, the nature with which Phoenix launches you to carry the program forward is refreshing. I don't think I've ever worked with a vendor who was so committed to our success. And they remain that way to this very day. Very sacrificial. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Phoenix Performance Partners could have done differently?

You may not want to work with them again. Working with them is transformative if you put yourself out there. And it is some of the most challenging work you may ever do. It is hard and introspective. They are aware of this but plow forward nonetheless. Not sure they need to do anything differently, but it's not easy work. They don't make it easy. It wouldn't have such value if it was.

I am the Assistant Superintendent of Education for a charter school district in Southern California. We serve over 10,000 students and have a staff of 1500.

We hired this team to guide our senior leadership team in creating and articulating a unified vision, a plan for sharing the vision, and an overall strengthening of the senior team. Part of the work focused on understanding leadership styles and patterns that do not serve the organization and do not contribute to our overall success. The ultimate goal is to work with Phoenix Performance Partners for several years and have all leaders across our organization participate in the transformational work.

SOLUTION

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

The school Superintendent was looking to strengthen her leadership and connected with Phoenix through Linkedin. She joined a CEO group led by Phoenix Performance Partners and participated in that group for over a year. She found the work to be powerful and we all recognized the positive shifts in her leadership style. This led to hiring Phoenix to begin the work of transformational leadership with our organization.

Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.

We started our work with Phoenix Performance Partners with a cabinet-level retreat. The cabinet includes the superintendent and six assistant superintendents. Prior to the retreat we completed self-reviews, an organization wide-review, and a leadership survey that was completed by our peers and people who we supervise.

During the three-day retreat, we analyzed and discussed these results and came to understand our default success strategies and how to adjust those when our comfortable leadership style doesn't work. We also defined a clear vision for the future of our organization and made a commitment to specific steps our team would take to communicate the vision. We also learned about the differences and the necessity of leading, managing, and coaching. One goal of our work with the Phoenix Performance Partners is that we develop a coaching culture.

Part of our ongoing work is to develop our coaching abilities while also receiving coaching from one of the partner coaches. In addition to developing a coaching culture we are developing our leadership skills in a way that keeps us moving forward with a future focused mindset and actions to support the mindset. We worked with Phoenix on developing these skills, articulating key performance indicators (KPIs) and understanding when to lead, manage, or coach.

The retreat was followed by ongoing meetings and individual coaching sessions. We met every six weeks with the coaches including Zoom and live in-person meetings. In this second year of work with Phoenix, we expanded the coaching and development to our Senior Leaders. We followed the same calendar which started with a retreat and includes meeting every six weeks. The primary difference with year two is that the cabinet is participating in the delivery of content and supporting coaching with the senior level team. The cabinet continues to meet separately with the coach team. As we support our senior leaders, we continue to strengthen our leadership skills.

Phoenix Performance Partners provided our leadership team with common language and actions that are contributing to a stronger, positive culture and a more productive team. The work is not done but the transformation is definitely happening thanks to our work with this group. We are nearing the end of our second year of work with the Phoenix Performance Partners and are planning to continue this work by adding a new group of leaders each year.

Four members. We work with three coaches and one assistant.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

Phoenix Performance Partners provided our leadership team with a common language and actions that are contributing to a stronger, positive culture and a more productive team. The work is not done but the transformation is definitely happening thanks to our work with this group. Our staff surveys and feedback indicate that we have improved cross-departmental communication and broken through some of the siloing that we had been doing. Our culture has improved as we have employed specific communication tools and actions for collaboration.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The Phoenix Performance Partners are very engaged with us and the work. They are authentic and approachable. I have worked with job coaches in the past and they do not compare to this group. They are excellent communicators and timely with preparation. A consistent response time is under 24 hours. They are flexible.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am most impressed by the coaches themselves. They show a high level of commitment to us and our organization and make us feel like we are working with partners who want the same success that we do. The "work" that we must do is clear and if we are willing, it is simple. The ideas of transformational leadership with the Phoenix Performance Team are not just theoretical. There are practical applications that are easy to apply because they are supported by coaching. The availability of the coaches is impressive and unique.

I am pleased overall.

We are a TK-12 network of six charter schools in Southern California with 10,000 students and over 1,000 staff. My current position is the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Operations, working directly for the Superintendent.

Phoenix Performance Partners worked with our cabinet level staff to assist us in furthering our leadership. It was such an amazing, transformational experience, we are now working with them to train all of our leaders.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

One of the owners of this firm worked with our Superintendent on a project with a group of CEOs across the country.

This team worked with us on both our personal and team leadership. Beginning with some pre-work we walked into the first retreat ready to discuss and come up with solutions for both our personal and group needs. After that there were follow up meetings to explore new ideas and solidify previous discussions. Throughout the time, they were also available for one-on-one professional coaching sessions. Once the cabinet level went through the program, we added our 50 other leaders to complete it too!

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

As a participant we learned so much about ourselves and came away with real ideas to produce better results. As a team we now have common language and goals and work so much better together!

The workflow was amazing! They did everything we asked and more.

This company is professional, yet personable. They are a perfect blend of facilitators, counselors, and solution-makers.

I do not feel there are any areas for improvement, except I want to meet with them more because it's great work.

We are non-profit organization that providers mental health and substance use services and I am the Chief Financial Officer.

Our organization wanted leadership training that would be transformational in the way we lead and support our teams, while strving to reach our stategical goals. The leadership training would support a cultureal change and privide the highest quality of care for our cleints & staff.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked at the goals we wanted to acheive and weighed in other factors like cost, timing & their engagement.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Our team met with the Phoenix Performance Partnes team to have an introduction and to set our team responsiblities for transformational leadership growth. We then had a 3 day event, which was onsite with our team in our local community. The event prepared us to use the new leadership skills that were taught during the event.

We all received information on how to implement and use these new skills. I feel this training has help our leadership team grow and will continue to help each team memberr to utilize this training information to help grow their teams. We believe this and have now set up training for all leaders in our organization.

For our training we have worked with both Brad Z. - Co-Founder & Partner and Kevin D. - Executive Coach. We also worked with Amber M. for training materials and scheduling.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since our team has received this training we are now seeing changes across the organization to be leaders and to coach with a growth mindset. This has been well received by both clients and our staff. We have also used the new skills to support current projects that each leadership team member have to continue a strategic and organization growth.

The Phoenix Performance Partners have a leadership style that is supportive, direct and it holds team members accountable to what they commit to. They communicate effectively on their meetings and then engage your team to set up coaching sessions that will help support each members continued growth.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I found that the Phoenix Performance Partners is unique in how they incorporate their training and how they ask each member to commit to the training prior to the start. This commitment help hold the team accountable to be present and make an impact to this training. They also provided our team coaching sessions, which help each member continue to grow using the new transformational leadership skills.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The team has done an excellent job and if there was one improvement, it would be to get any new materials to the team a little quicker so they have time to go through the materials prior to some of the follow up meeting after the 3 day event.
