What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The platform is still being built, but we’re getting close to the release. I can’t speak to Peiko’s added value yet, but I’m sure the project will be a success. We’ve hired in-house QA testers so everything is verified step by step and function by function.

How did Peiko perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re highly organized, and we haven’t had any delays in sprints or tasks. Regarding implementation, they propose and explain different technologies and APIs and lay out how they’ll improve our service. Everything is clear. They also respond quickly, within 10 minutes on average. I haven’t worked with anyone like them before.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The transparent communication from the whole Peiko team is amazing. I’ve met everyone in their office, and they’re all open with us. Large enterprises tend to be closed off, but it’s a different story with Peiko. They’re experts at what they do, which reassures me that the platform will be much improved.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve regarding their tech stack. They have good blockchain expertise, and I don’t think there’s something for them to improve aside from this.

It’s a web platform, but we have plans to develop a mobile app too. It’s basically an internal engine that connects our API to many exchanges and aggregates data in real time. Peiko delivered the MVP, and we’re currently developing the next version with additional features.

We have around 5,000 users actively working on the system who are happy with the product. There are some improvements and new features that our users are expecting and we want to proceed with Peiko to do this.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Peiko was responsible for the backend and frontend coding of the platform, along with its design. They implemented several security components and integrated a payment gateway. They also made a connection to Google Authenticator and made sure that the app supports QR codes.

Initially, we discussed our vision for the platform—how we saw it, and what we wanted to see on it. The technologies used were PHP, Node.js, HTML, CSS, MySQL, and Redis. The site uses HTTPS. At the moment, it’s only a web platform, but our plans for next year include making a mobile platform and desktop application.

We hired Peiko to build our product, but the engagement became defined by low-quality deliverables, repeated schedule slippage, and serious concerns about billing honorability. After taking time to audit invoices against the vendor’s reporting, we found multiple discrepancies that were only detectable due to mistakes in their account managers’ reports. I would not recommend this vendor to teams that need reliable delivery, clean engineering, and transparent billing.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We needed a team to build an MVP, ship features, integrate payments, rebuild backend, within a defined timeline. We chose Peiko because they presented themselves as capable of end-to-end delivery and promised structured project management and transparent reporting.

In practice, the scope was repeatedly disrupted by delays and rework caused by quality issues. We also had to spend additional time on oversight and verification that should not be necessary with a professional vendor.

The main outcome was not business impact but damage control:

• Features frequently required rework due to bugs and incomplete/incorrect implementation.
•  Milestones slipped repeatedly, and delivery dates moved without reliable recovery plans.
• We incurred additional internal costs to review work, clarify requirements again, and stabilize deliverab

Project management was a major weakness:

• Timelines were optimistic upfront and then repeatedly missed.
• Status updates were not dependable enough to forecast delivery.
• We often discovered issues late (after “done” was reported), which increased rework and slowed progress.  

Billing / Invoicing Transparency (Core issue)
The most serious problem was invoicing accuracy:

• Multiple invoices appeared to include more hours than were supported by actual work progress and task history.
• It took us time to uncover because we initially assumed the reporting and invoicing were consistent.
• We were ultimately able to verify discrepancies only because of errors and inconsistencies in the account managers’ reports, which made reconciliation possible.
• After auditing invoice lines against the available reports and work artifacts, we identified repeated mismatches that undermined trust in their billing process.

• Implement real QA and code review standards; stop marking work complete until it’s actually production-ready.
• Provide realistic schedules with clear dependencies and early risk escalation.
• Fix billing governance: time tracking, approvals, and invoice accuracy must be auditable and consistent.
• Improve account management: reports must match reality, and discrepancies should be proactively corrected.
