Facility Details
A modern 18-acre facility opened in September 2025. Our facility has a capacity of 500 tons daily of food scraps and clean organic material.
PEH is the only facility within a 60-mile radius of Baltimore City and County. The facility will be able to compost material in aerated static piles (ASP) inside a 130’x460’ building. ASP composting produces compost on a smaller footprint faster with less odor. Our finished compost goes into its own curing building, ready for sale. We can accurately measure all material coming and going with two digital scales.
The product is sampled and tested weekly as required by the state of Maryland (MDE). Test results are available upon request.

PEH will accept organic waste from businesses and compost it into a soil amendment. The finished compost product will be for sale to construction companies, nurseries, golf courses, landscapers, organic farmers, gardeners, and local garden centers in bulk.
We also maintain a fleet of trucks to deliver products as well as to collect raw materials for our customers. We can provide roll-off containers within a 60-mile radius.
As a large-scale, centralized composting facility, we can serve wide geographic areas and divert significant amounts of organic materials from landfills where they would instead be buried or burned. Responsible indoor composting is clean, efficient, and environmentally sound, managing odor, noise, and dust within the confines of the structure.
