We needed to find a location that was appropriate for our purposes.

We asked The Pearl to find us a location. They found several places, but our realtor would just send stuff and tell us to submit something or check the contract. She wasn’t negotiating or doing things in our best interest.

We worked with one person.

It was a referral from a mutual friend’s friend.

How much have you invested in them?

We didn’t close with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in September 2020, and the engagement ended in July 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Everything was good at the beginning. However, I believe that if you’re a realtor, you’re hired to negotiate on behalf of your client, and I didn’t feel that our real estate agent was doing that.

We should be making more money, but we can’t because we still don’t have a location. When I brought up the issues, our realtor said we needed to let her do her job, but she wasn’t doing it.

How was project management handled?

Project management was terrible. They were responsive, but they weren’t meeting our needs. For example, they would send a 3,000 square foot building when we’d said we wanted a 2,500 square foot building.

We communicated via email, phone calls, and texts.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

Our realtor was a people person. When I said I wanted something, she would try to send it to me right away.

In what specific areas can they improve?

Our issue was that she was overwhelmed, so she was missing things. She should’ve delegated certain things to her assistant. That was why we finished working with The Pearl.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Choose a realtor wisely and ask important questions — for example, how many businesses they closed that month or year. Moreover, only sign an exclusivity agreement with a good realtor.
