We do all door-to-door sales, with four subsidiary brands that we act under. We were working with a team for our web development needs, but they weren’t meeting what we needed. We were growing pretty quick and needed someone to help us quickly and efficiently improve our website so it was top quality.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We recently updated a series of landing pages for everything on our site with them. Since COVID-19, we couldn’t go knocking on doors anymore, so we had to figure out a better way to attract homeowners to our business. This led to their team helping us develop a referral program. We designed it on our end and then their team developed it.
They supported all of our brands by creating several landing pages. They’ve also helped us translate everything on one of our websites to Spanish, since we work with a lot of Spanish-speaking subcontractors.

They’ve really helped us reach other cultures than the ones we normally target. Being able to switch the site over to Spanish has really helped us build relationships with subcontractors quickly. They’ve helped us attract higher-quality candidates because of the detailed pages they’ve put together.

They are extremely efficient. We mostly email back and forth very efficiently. They’ve been very thorough.

They were pleasant and quick to respond. Additionally, the Oyova team wasn’t afraid to tell us no. They pushed us to consider other options that might work better for us, which showed me how much they cared about the results of this project.

At this moment, I can’t think of any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
First, know what you want when you start the project and stay organized throughout.
Second, work with the Oyova team to create a plan for the future. They did a lot of work for us, but they also helped us understand how do it ourselves. We have tutorials and guides to follow even after the close of the project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When we request revisions, they’re very efficient and usually get them done the same day. Things are smooth so we deal with them on a limited basis.
How did Oyova perform from a project management standpoint?
The Oyova team is very easy to work with. If I need something or have an idea, they're proactive in helping me address it. Things have been in the status quo for a while now. Beth has always been very conscientious. She’s quick to respond, and it’s been an overall good experience.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Executive Assistant for Bonar Engineering & Construction Company. We design/build cold storage facilities for the perishable food industry. I am responsible for any and all productions -- newsletters, books, presentations, white papers -- that the CEO of the company does, as well as various other duties.

For what projects/services did your company hire Oyova?
As of 2014, we realized our website was outdated and not working for us. So, the owner of the company reached out to Oyova to update the website and add a few features we currently didn't have.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted a modernized, functional, user-friendly website with a way to subscribe to our weekly newsletter, access to an online certification program, and access to a storefront. We were hoping to improve our online presence.

How did you select this vendor?
The CEO of the company did some research, asked around, talked with several other companies, and finally settled with Oyova.

David outlined a plan, asked me to fill out a questionnaire asking about what it was we wanted our website to do, and then presented us with his vision of what it would look like.
What was the team composition?
Three people came to the initial meeting from Oyova, and we had three from our company. Since then, we have met others from Oyova as we have "tweaked" what our website does, and have had a few challenges along the way.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
It has definitely been a growing experience for me. I ended up being the one "in charge" of the website at our company, and have had to lean on Oyova several times, and have recently made a couple of small edits (i.e., updating photos to new projects recently completed), and, as usual, Oyova delivered.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication is effortless and several times they were waiting on me to respond to a question before they could move forward, so from a project management perspective, it was a pleasant experience.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Oyova is extremely responsive to every email I ever sent. They have a positive attitude that says they will do anything in their power to make you happy and to give you what you want. They were quick to set up a Zoom meeting when I needed help updating the photos of the website, and took the time to walk me through the process. They are courteous, and very professional, while still being personable and approachable.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I thought the initial cost of the website development was a little high, but to be honest, I had had no prior experience with it, nor did I know how to maintain a website, so I guess in the long run, we got exactly what we asked for. They were willing to work with us on the price, and as a small business, we certainly appreciated that!
