OriginSoftware

Origin Software is a South African software development company specialising in custom business applications, legacy system modernisation, and operational software.

We help businesses design, build, maintain, and modernise software that supports real-world operations — from ERP and Point of Sale systems to stock control, production, reporting, integrations, and bespoke line-of-business applications.

A key area of expertise is legacy application modernisation. With more than 20 years of hands-on experience working with Visual Basic 6 and Microsoft technologies, we understand that replacing a mature system is about far more than converting code. Critical business rules, workflows, integrations, and years of operational knowledge must be identified, preserved, and carefully migrated.

Our experience includes modernising business-critical VB6 applications into C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET MAUI, Blazor, and SQL Server-based solutions, while keeping existing operations and familiar workflows intact.

Origin Software also provides new custom software development, database development, system integrations, web applications, desktop and mobile solutions, and ongoing application support.

Our approach is practical and business-focused: understand the problem, build the right solution, and deliver software that is reliable, maintainable, and designed around how the business actually works.
