Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founding engineering at a company who 4 years later is leading our insurance technology team.

For what projects/services did your company hire opsZero?

Designing and building our early infrastructure and in the future building new components to help us scale.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed multiple companies but when asking around Abhi's name came up from a good friend stating he was "the best dev ops engineer I've ever worked with". After speaking with him and seeing other companies he had built infra for, it was an easy decision.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Originally we only knew that we were going to be running on a Django system with 1 other lambda project and that we needed something that would scale. OpsZero helped design multiple different potential solutions with both their benefits and drawbacks, as well as ways to solve some of our more complex challenges (with migrations, test environments, secure connections, etc)

After design and concepts, they created a timeline and check ins to keep transperancy in the project for both good news and bad. In the end we actually ended up adding to the scope and still got the project on time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been able to run and grow with the Kubernetes on EKS that they created for us and allowing out team to truly focus on code and features vs having to worry about infrastructure limitations like we had at past companies. We have also gone back to OpsZero for addition infra work as they deliver time and time again no matter the complexity.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Seamless, the Slack connect channel as well as tickets they created made everything very clear and easy.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed and quality of what was delivered were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Documentation on the system was a little sparse at first but once it was complete it was easy to understand.
