• One of our biggest challenges was that our entire infrastructure was set up quickly for development, and needed to be improved to support our growth. We also needed to step up the game in the area of reliability and stability.
• Next challenge was that the development processess were slowed down because of tedious infrastructure setup. We had several unnecessary operational tasks that were affecting our daily work and overall progress.

We needed additional power to support us with designing and deploying our cloud-native tool stack  And finally, we had an important client for whom we had to deploy infrastructure quickly and their support came in clutch with that. Today we have fully automated, gitops e2e infrastructure with all the pipelines around it.

The project involved overhauling our cloud infrastructure for better scalability and security. One of the key aspects they helped us with was the implementation of streamlined various DevOps practices for increased efficiency which lead to increased revenue for our business. 

Additionally, they conducted a cloud redesign for our main project, which enabled us to transfer the same concepts and setup to various other internal projects. They assisted us in implementing IaC best practices with Pulumi, which gave us absolute control over our cloud resources, a simple and streamlined way of deploying new resources, and a clear naming convention. 

They redesigned our approach to Kubernetes, which improved the availability and security of our services. To complement the security changes, they helped us implement a ZeroTrust solution. We chose Twingate and this added a layer of security that also allowed seamless access to our environment. Finally, they helped us lay the groundwork for SOC2 by implementing a SIEM solution from ELK stack.

• Kubernetes infrastructure that has tightened security and improved scalability. 
• IaC practices implemented with Pulumi increased control over our whole GCP cloud infrastructure. It also enabled our developers to maintain our infrastructure. 
• Improved security posture of our services and GCP environment, accompanied by improvements in how we access and manage our services. 
• Increased auditing of our infrastructure due to Zero Trust leveraging Twingate technology. 
• SOC2 Reporting and auditing are now simpler due to the ELK SIEM solution they implemented.

There were a few scopes of work. We have a large legacy application that we are hosting for 600+ clients that is hosted on huge Azure VMs which was very costly and inefficient. The application is used for tracking a large amount of devices and data. The first scope of work was migrating the application to Kubernetes. We also needed to migrate a large amount of data to the new environment. 

We had a lot of problems with pushing new updates to the production so it was important to streamline and automate that as well. The second scope was designing IaaC Terraform solutions that can be used across the teams in our organization. The solutions were made into modules with a focus on supporting specific needs we have and complying with different standards and certifications. The third scope was creating GitOps and CI/CD solutions to support the new Kubernetes environment. 

They demonstrated how we could leverage GitOps and CI/CD to streamline our deployment processes. This also solved challenges with tracking and scaling our resources. The key deliverables summary: 

• Kubernetes environment that enables us to provide our application to 600+ customers and scale it with ease 
• Easier process to push new upgrades to production 
• IaaC code that can easily be used across our teams to manage their own infrastructure 
• GitOps and CI/CD were used to solve challenges with deploying, tracking and scaling resources.

We successfully migrated from legacy to Kubernetes, saving 90% of infrastructure and operational costs. The terraform code they created for us helped other teams reduce development cycles, run tests more often, and overall increase their productivity. CI/CD and GitOps solutions helped us gain an overview and control over the deployed resources. Additionally, it’s now easier to scale our resources when demand is high.

Firstly, the implementation and refinement of our CI/CD pipelines helped us decrease our development cycle and streamline our deployment processes. The automation of these processes has been a game changer for us. For IaC, the work done was remarkable. The team provided us with robust Terraform code and modules that automated our cloud resource management, ensuring consistency and greatly reducing manual workload.
