We contracted Vova and OpsFlow to create an integration between our marketing automation platform, and the proprietary loan origination software (LOS) for one of the largest mortgage brokers in the country. We needed someone to help us map out and execute a complex bi directional data flow, which ultimately turned into multiple improvements/adjustments to the legacy systems as requested by the client.

Some of the projects that we've completed:

• Originally scoped bi-directional sync between LOS and marketing automation software
• Additional integration between legacy LOS and new LOS (transition in process)
• Within the proprietary LOS: 
  • Changed field names for existing fields, and changed viewability of multiple fields to improve UI
  • Changed field edit permissions to support new data flow
  • Created new custom views for database including conditional highlighting of fields/cells
• Creation of a loan submission workflow initiated by a digital form, with automated notifications and data integrations

The Ventur was brought on initially to revamp a few of our website's key pages, however, we ended up getting them to review and redesign our entire website. This included the team deep diving into our product, understanding our target audience and completing a major overhaul of pages and website structure. This included a redesign of over 13 pages, and their relevant sub-pages, an updated navigation bar and a refresh to our branding overall.

We measured success based on the delivery of key page designs by the due dates, and the quality of those pages (e.g. the copywriting, the design, the understanding of our product/audience in the design & writing).

Our website was created quite fast and wasn't showcasing the product in a visual way. We needed a company that could help us identify opportunities for quick wins on our site and showcase our software and all its features. Our goal is to maximize conversions.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found them by referral and upon meeting with them for the first time, it was clear that they wanted to add value to our company and help us reach our goals through quick wins instead of long winded projects.

After a few discovery calls to complete the product discovery and answer any questions they had, Ventur made sure they understood the software and all it's features. Then, they started drafting mockups and designs for our feedback to guide them on the look and feel we were going for. Communication was on point at all times and we were were always up to date on the progress of each milestone of the project.

Ventur never missed a deadline and was always available for questions. After final approval of the designs, the files and all the required resources were handed over to us to start development. When development had been completed, Ventur also did a report on the implementation of their designs to make sure that the developer had followed the design exactly. This was extremely helpful and we were able to finish the entire project within a month.

Our bounce rates have improved overall. Homepage decreased 15% with users spending more time on our website. Our overall goal conversion rate has also improved by 50%.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and provides frequent updates. He was very easy to reach and very accommodating. We were able to talk on slack and he was always available to clarify any concerns or questions we may have.

I wanted a firm to develop a video editing platform for me. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The Ventur developed a web-based video editing platform that allows other freelancers to edit videos to save time and money. I had a basic idea of what I wanted, which I provided The Ventur. First, we narrowed down my target audience to streamline the market and user research processes. They did the user research, interviewing potential clients and me to identify our needs and what the platform could offer. 

Next, The Ventur developed the wireframes using Whimsical and the UX design. Once the backend was developed, and the entire project was completed, they handed over the project to me, along with clear platform documentation.

I worked with three teammates from The Ventur, including the project manager.

I met The Ventur in an agency mastermind by pure chance. I stumbled across their profile on a discussion board and ended up on their company website. We had a quick discovery call that made me comfortable with their processes, so I hired them.

I invested $5,000 with The Ventur. 

What is the status of this engagement?

My engagement with The Ventur was from January–February 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Thanks to The Ventur’s work, I now have an MVP of the platform that cost me a fraction of what other firms tried to charge me for the same project. I’ve received good feedback from the two beta users I’ve sent the MVP to about the processes and user flows. I expect to do a small beta launch of the platform within the next two weeks. From there, we’ll continue to expand the user base and build out the platform based on their feedback. 

I’ve actually tried to complete this project twice before with different firms, and the platform has failed each time. I lost $10,000–$15,000 across both of those projects. 

How did The Ventur perform from a project management standpoint?

The Ventur managed the project perfectly via Notion. I was part of every step of the project, providing regular feedback. The Ventur met every single deadline within our four-week timeline. We communicated via Slack, which was very good. They also provided very clear documentation that outlines each aspect of the platform. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

In addition to the excellent execution of the project, the documentation that The Ventur provided is impressive. I can pass on that documentation to marketing teams or even another development team to use because it explains the platform and editing processes so clearly. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything for The Ventur to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d advise customers to use the discovery call with The Ventur to provide project input. However, it’s also important to listen to The Ventur’s input because they make great suggestions that customers may not have even thought of before. Their team knows what they’re doing and is an excellent asset to any project.

We wanted to build a web application for our business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app that The Venture designed and developed for us provides digital negotiation for consumers across the world. Users can negotiate in an unlimited capacity with any provider that has a payment attached to a contract. The web application can send a digital notice to the entities to let them know what can and can’t be paid, and then they go into a portal that allows companies to respond to that particular consumer.

It’s been a collaborative process where I have the concept of what I want, and they show me how to build it, including the UI/UX design.

We’ve been working with 5–6 people from their team, including UI/UX, backend, and frontend developers.

I found them at Upwork. We interviewed them and a couple of other providers, but we chose them because their proposal felt trustworthy, transparent, and honest.

We started working together in February 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
