I'm the IT manager of OTI Lumionics, a chemical manufacturing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Open Storage Solutions?

We needed help with cloud storage services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Open Storage Solutions does offsite data storage for us. They have sterile servers hosted near and around Toronto in some data centers, and we have a link that we attach to our server, and through that, we can migrate data from our office to their office. Also, in case our office has some huge power outage or something, we can still get back all our data later.

What is the team composition?

I've worked with three members of their team.

How did you come to work with Open Storage Solutions?

We have worked with them for many years.

How much have you invested with them?

Every month, we pay them $400 CAD (approximately $300 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the partnership in April 2018, and it's still ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to their help, our cloud service is now very consistent. Sometimes I find it a little slower, but it hasn't caused us much trouble.

Also, there have been downtimes, but it was not critical for us because we have our local backup.

How did Open Storage Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great with project management; their team is communicative and keeps sending emails from time to time about any discounts or updates. They're also responsive and send feedback fast whenever we need anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're quick in responding and very straightforward in what they can provide.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think they can improve on anything — they're doing great. We only had trouble with the billing department once when they had billed us twice for a month, but that was by accident.

Any advice for potential customers?

They're a company worth trying because their team is good at what they're doing and makes services personalized. They also take a personal interest in your company and provide helpful suggestions.
