Amolendu is on your project from the first call to launch, and you have his direct line. At most agencies the founder wins the work and a junior team inherits it. Here the person who scoped your project is the one drawing the screens, so answers come from the decision maker.

Limited projects, highest quality

We cap the studio at five to seven live projects at a time. That number exists so Amolendu can work on each one personally rather than review it from a distance. Fewer clients, more attention on every one, and no week where your project is handed to whoever happens to be free.

Clear communication and timely delivery

Two or three scheduled calls a week, so progress is something you watch rather than something reported at the end. Slippage gets caught in days instead of surfacing at handover. You always know what shipped, what lands next, and where the project sits against the agreed date.

Fair question, and the honest answer depends on the shape of the work rather than its size. Onyx runs deliberately small: five to seven live projects, with Amolendu personally on every one. That suits a focused scope well, whether that is a conversion programme, a product redesign, a category relaunch or a fintech MVP. It suits you less well if you need forty screens in three weeks across four parallel squads. For larger scopes I bring in specialists I have worked with for years and tell you upfront who is doing what. What you avoid here is the pattern at bigger agencies, where the senior person you met at the pitch hands the work to whoever has capacity that month. Twenty-three years of shipped products sits on your project directly, every week. Tell me the scope and the deadline and I will say plainly whether we are the right fit, including the times when we are not.

Three ways, depending on what you need. Fixed price for defined scopes such as an audit, a redesign or a set of screens, where you know the number before we start and it moves only if the scope does. Monthly retainer for ongoing product design or conversion work, usually running three to six months. Hourly for advisory work where the shape is genuinely unpredictable. I quote after a call rather than from a form, because the honest number depends on the state of your analytics, your brand assets and your engineering capacity, and none of that shows up in a brief. Payment is normally half to start and half on delivery, or monthly for retainers. If the budget you have does not match what the work actually needs, you will hear that on the first call rather than three weeks in.

With numbers agreed before the work starts. Most design engagements end with a handover and a hope. On a conversion project we instrument the flows first, agree what we are moving (checkout completion, add to cart, activation, whichever matters to your business) and take a baseline. Changes then ship in sequence, so each one is attributable rather than lost inside a big-bang relaunch. On a Gulf e-commerce platform that meant sitewide conversion going from 0.36% to 0.85% across five months, add to cart up 40%, and completed orders more than doubling. At Briq it meant product setup falling from eight weeks to three days. Where a change does not move the number, we say so and try something else. You should expect any designer to tell you what improved and by how much, and to show you where the figure came from.

I work your hours rather than mine. For US clients that means a real overlap in your morning; for Europe and the Gulf it is most of the day. Meetings get scheduled in your timezone and you are not asked to take calls at odd hours because I happen to be elsewhere. The honest limitation is workshops. If you need someone physically in the room for a stakeholder session, I will fly in, but that needs planning rather than a week's notice. Day to day the work is largely asynchronous anyway: a Loom walkthrough of what shipped, comments answered inside a working day, and two or three scheduled calls a week. Nine months on a Saudi and UAE platform ran this way, and so did two years with a US company. Distance stops mattering when the person on the other end replies quickly, and it matters enormously when they do not, so judge me on response time rather than on where I sit.

Both, and you choose. Most engagements end with Figma your developers can build from: variables, tokens, a component library, and annotations covering states and edge cases rather than only the happy path. Where it makes sense I build the front end as well, in React, Next.js, Webflow or WordPress. For a small team that is often the cheaper route, because handover is where detail gets lost and where budget quietly disappears. Backend, infrastructure and anything touching your payment stack are outside what I do. If you already have engineers, I work to their conventions and join their standups instead of throwing files over a wall. If you do not, I can take a screen from an idea to something live on your domain. Tell me which of those you need and the quote reflects it.
