Our Story

Since 2017, ONMOTIO has worked at the intersection of industrial design and engineering. Our London-based team of nine designers and engineers, with backgrounds in aviation, transportation and high-performance products, takes physical products from first sketch to factory floor: industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics and firmware, prototyping and small batches. A vetted network of partners covers every other specialty.

What Sets Us Apart

Design and engineering, one team

Industrial design and mechanical engineering are worked together from the first sketch. The engineering serves the design: the form a product was imagined for is kept, and made to work, hold up and go through the factory.

Our own prototyping workshops

We build prototypes ourselves: 3D printing, CNC machining, vacuum and gravity casting, thermoforming, prototype injection, and small batches of 10 to 200 units, in our own workshops in Brazil and North America.

A vetted partner network

For specialties outside the core team, we bring in partners we have worked with project after project: series injection molding, textile and upholstery, high-power test benches, sheet metal, welding and more. You keep one point of contact.

Commonly Asked Questions

In phases, each ending with a deliverable and a decision: a written brief, concept design, product development, prototyping, then detail design for manufacturing and small batches when needed. You decide at the end of each phase, with the work in front of you. One of our three project leads stays your contact from the brief to the prototype, and we sign an NDA from the first exchange if you want one.

Physical products for founders and brands who want one team from idea to working prototype: consumer products, products with electronics and a battery, products heading to a Kickstarter or Indiegogo launch, and engineering work on vehicles and equipment. We also make the renders, animations and campaign visuals that sell the product.

It depends on the product: from a water bottle to a jet ski, the effort can vary fifty times. We give a fixed price per phase once the brief is written, so you always know what the next step costs before you commit to it. Projects start from $1,000.

Yes. Our workshops cover 3D printing, CNC machining, vacuum and gravity casting, thermoforming and prototype injection, and we produce small batches of 10 to 200 units for testers, certification samples or first backers. Production injection molding goes through our preferred manufacturing partner.

We sign an NDA from the first exchange if you want one. Under our standard contract, the intellectual property is transferred to you once all invoices are paid.
