Orix | Leasing | Automotive
Orix is a Tokyo-based financial services group, who run a business of the largest leaser of cars in India. They approached us to design the autonomous car leasing platform by ORIX India to provide mobility solutions for individuals and businesses alike.
The design process featured a heavy emphasis on persona-creation and research, seeing as people of all backgrounds, wants, and needs were utilising the platform to lease cars. We crafted personalised, data-driven user flows, for various different personas, ensuring that different kinds of users on the platform would be getting a unique, tailor-made experience to suit their needs. We designed an intuitive flow which ensured user-completion, with minimum nudging from Orix, furthermore, the platform featured aesthetics of the Orix group, while taking on a modern look and feel, such as to make users feel at home whenever they returned the platform.

Qubo | IOT - Consumer Durable
Qubo crafts a wide-range of home devices, ranging from doorbells, to cameras and more! The aim? To modernise the contemporary home, in an effort to make it a more safe, and secure place for loved ones! Furthermore, they’re constantly innovating on the next big thing in home technology!
We connected with Qubo to create an IoT platform, in an effort to connect all their devices, through one convenient app. This was a unique yet fascinating challenge for our team, seeing as IoT is a new wave of technology, and there are myriad factors to consider when designing for it. We tackled the issue by having a rock-solid information architecture, upon which we built an app which allowed users to navigate to the exact device they wanted without too much hassle. The cherry on top? Our interface innovated on Qubo’s existing design language to create a fresh and youthful, yet not distracting interface.

My Money Mantra | BFSI
MyMoneyMantra is one of the most recognisable NBFC’s in the North of India. A brick-and-mortar institution which offers all manner of financial services.
They approached us with a vision, digitising their business, and boldly stepping into the virtual world. The challenge? Translating the trust associated with the brand to a digital setting. We revamped the brands identity for screens, changing it enough to fit the medium, while keeping it familiar enough for people to recall the brand. Furthermore, it was important to build a reassuring experience, since the NBFC dealt in loans and services which require a degree of transparency. The site, now live, has kicked-off a renaissance for the brand, so much so that the brand now considers itself ‘phygital’ first.

Atom | Habit Builder | Health & Wellness
Meditation is scientifically shown to be one of the most effective and efficient ways to better ones’ mental health. Based on principles of Behavioural Science, Atom helps you build the life-long habit of mindfulness meditation by forming personalised routines. The concept is a stellar one, combining technology of the digital age, with a timeless routine which has helped millions find peace of mind, and in life.
The design process featured crafting an experience that is simple enough and reduces cognitive load to start a new habit. We built a progressive gamified experience that tracks your progress and ensures you stay engaged through incremental progress depiction. The gamification was done through a ‘forest’ system, which allowed users to create their own personal forest, basis their regularity with good habits. Furthermore, the design language and aesthetics needed to match the concept of meditation and mindfulness, so we stuck to a mostly-light theme, which gave users a feeling of airiness and lightness when interacting with the app.

Posable
POSable is a digital, all-in-one POS system, based out of Malaysia, but serving a global market. With the goal of re-imagining POS systems, POSable gives business-owners all the tools they need to build a thriving, multi-channel retail business!
The first action item was to restructure the information architecture, POSable wished to include a large-host of features, which needed to be organised logically. Furthermore, the features went beyond just sales, and into other business functions as well, giving even more importance to the IA. Furthermore, the visual direction needed to be attractive, but restrained as well, such as to not be distracting to the users, normally sales-people working in fast-paced environments. Lastly, the UX and user flows had to be crystal clear, allowing for these employees to quickly accomplish tasks in their respective roles!

LPU | UXUI
Lovely Professional University (LPU), is consistently one of the highest ranked private institutions in India. Committed to providing students with a holistic, and multifaceted approach to learning, LPU is a dynamic institution which is ever-evolving in the pursuit of providing the best in education. Furthermore, it’s shifting its sights to the world of international education, with various collaborations in place to advance this vision, alongside admitting students from all over the world, contributing to its diverse outlook on learning.
We were entrusted by LPU to create an impactful digital presence through a responsive website that positions LPU as an aspirational institution for students all over the world. The website needed to be completely redesigned from the ground up to solve for discoverability of information, navigation and effectively displaying the values of the university. Furthermore, the interface had to be an enthralling one, incorporating the age-old brand guideline of LPU, and melding it with modern elements. We crafted a contemporary and dynamic visual design, which positioned LPU as a premium, international institution. A classical colour palette, paired with modern typography and interactions gave a timeless-yet-youthful appearance to the site.

RBL Bank CC Design System | UXUI
RBL Bank is a major Indian private-sector bank, headquartered in Mumbai. With a nearly 80-year history behind it, the bank is one of the trusted institutions of the nation. Featuring a plethora of offerings, from savings accounts, to Credit Cards, and much more.
We were approached by the bank to develop a communication design system for their range of Credit Cards. Through both primary and secondary research, as-well-as contextual inquiry, we developed major user personas into which most RBL Bank customers could be divided. Building on this, we proceeded to cement visual elements for each, including colours, and shapes to be utilised. Since then, we’ve been consistently designing all Credit Card communications from RBL Bank, to their customers, and leveraging the power of visuals to convey themes, ideas, and concepts. Across platforms too, from emailers, to social media!

Ziploan | BFSI | Digital B2B Lending
Ziploan is one of the fast growing NBFC’s in India, aimed at making the process of small and medium enterprises applying for business loans an easier one. It targets this niche in particular, recognising a lack of attention being payed to this segment by larger financial institutions. Corresponding to this, the Ziploan app allows businesses and individuals to apply for, track, and process their loans through a streamlined, pocketable experience. We designed the entire user-experience for the app, with the objective of making the loan-application process, tracking, and more journeys to be as streamlined as possible. Furthermore, we implemented a unique design language, aligned with Ziploan’s identity, but still reinventing the aesthetics of the platform.

vCard | Mobile App UX UI
vCard is India's first mobile credit card, and aims to modernize and streamline the process of owning a credit card. VCard takes the entire Credit Card experience, and condenses it into a single, secured application for easy access, and use.
Our approach was to invoke trust in users and stand out from a plethora of banking apps through our design.

ITC | Consumer Products | UXUI Design
ITC is one of the most diverse conglomerates in India. From hospitality, to FMCG, there are few industries left untouched by this giant. One of their business interests is in the youth-food vertical, with a star product being ‘ITC Unikid’, a drink-mix aimed at providing the best nutrition to children at a young age.
The project was a ‘phygital’ one, which is where we came-in. The drink-mix was to be supplemented by a digital product for parents, allowing them to track all aspects of their childs development, growth, and nutrition. We designed the ITC unikid app from scratch, to include a seamless onboarding, and user experience. The app, through design, enabled parents to quickly and conveniently switch between all facets of their childs’ development.

Team composed of a Chief designer, UX researcher and UI designer. I feel there was a program manager also acting in the backend.

During the project, I got lot of positive feedback from my seniors and peers about OneThing work. OneThing helped me to solve quite to few design problems which we were struggling with. We are confident to get more positive reviews once App gets released with new design language provided by them.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
OneThing team used to visit us once or twice in a week. We mostly preferred to discuss face to face, however team was available over the call also. Each discussion session used to be very rigorous and last for 2-3 hours.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am Senior Vice President for Credit Card Business Unit at RBL Bank. RBL Bank is an Indian private sector bank headquartered in the Mumbai and founded in 1943. The credit card unit is fastest growing in the Industry currently.
For what projects/services did your company hire onething.design?
We wanted to set up a uniform and systematic communication design system for Credit Card division.
What were your goals for this project?
To simplify and unify segment based credit card communication design across channels.
How did you select this vendor?
We evaluated some of the top conventional creative and digital marketing agencies but we did not find the right approach to tackle a large communication system. We were looking for a deeper and more fundamental approach. That's when we stumbled upon work from UX UI agencies and called in them to pitch. Onething's approach to the whole problem from a bird's eye view to the micro design nuances impressed us and we got them onboard.
Describe the project in detail.
Project comprises of essentially 6 parts -Understanding Credit Card User Segments -Understanding Product Range -Bucketing User with relevant Product -Creating a design language for each Segment -Implementing it across each touch point -Evaluate performance and iterate
What was the team composition?

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have been able to implement communication design across platforms and they are very refreshing compared to any other competition. So far there is a positive impact on conversions and customer feedback.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Onething team was quite responsive and the added advantage of they being in same city helped with coordination. Most of the communication is on email as being a bank a lot of platforms are blocked for security.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The team was able to breakdown a large scale communication system into granular touch points and create a segment wise approach to cover all channels of communications.
Are there any areas for improvement?
What as a company they can improve upon is feedback channel structuring for large organisation like ours. However I would say design in companies like ours becomes subjective and can incur multiple discussions and iterations.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I’m the head of product design and development at Revolt Motors Intellicorp (RMI). We’re building electric two-wheelers and its infrastructure.
For what projects/services did your company hire onething.design?
We hired onething.design to build a design system across the connected ecosystem of our bike. The product involves B2C & B2B apps and complex dashboards.
What were your goals for this project?
We needed a simplistic and relevant design that made usability and ease of operation the highest priority.
How did you select this vendor?
Through online research and viewing existing work, we invited multiple design studios for pitches. What we found with onething.design was their process to get to the relevant information in a plethora of data, and then further use it to create a design and deliverable process. Their team looked at the ecosystem as a design system, not individual projects, which impressed us.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We’re building a large, independent and scalable electric vehicle infrastructure. The project involves a massive understanding of challenges but combating that through deploying the most straightforward solutions. The most important aspects are distinguishing different user sets and creating a simple interaction model. Their team cleared through our scattered thoughts to bring out the right information architecture. onething.design built the system from the ground up.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a design lead, a UX designer, a motion graphics designer, a UI designer, an illustrator, and a project manager.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
After gaining confidence with the product, we actively ramped up our presales. The hardware and software design helped us bring in a fantastic response through sales numbers and prospective leads. onething.design validated user feedback and incorporated it into the design.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
onething.design’s agile approach toward collaboration benefitted the project. Their team set expectations by scheduling weekly sprints that assisted our developers with planning. There was a plan focused on deliverables.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
With onething.design, we observed the balance between the two co-founders and their team’s freedom of expression. Usually, with design studios, it’s founder-driven, and all ideas stem from the top. We didn’t find that with onething.design. Getting over creative roadblocks and complex design problems are easy with their team.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Every company needs to improve and learn every day. My suggestion to onething.design would be to continually better the company to stay on the right path.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We're a supply chain technology company that develops and deploys supply chain tools for healthcare commodities. We have impacted 60 million children in nine countries through our projects.
For what projects/services did your company hire onething.design?
We needed to revamp our website.
What were your goals for this project?
We needed an informational website that was modern, simple, and elegant, with beautiful designs and crisp displays.
How did you select this vendor?
After a long search, we narrowed the list to 13 vendors and reached out to all of them. onething.design was the most responsive, and we liked their proposal came up with a proposal that we liked the most. Their past work made it look like they were a premium design studio with a passion for what they are doing. Interacting with Divanshu Thakral, the co-founder who did business development was very easy. He was the only one amongst all others interacted with, who made evident the company's desire to take up a project like what we had offered. The price negotiation was also very fair. Even though we are a Bangalore-based company and onething are Delhi-based, we chose them over everybody else because we knew they would do an honestly good job.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
They completely restructured and redesigned our website on WordPress. After we set guidelines and requirements, they created mockups. Once we approved the mockups, they created the UX wireframes for about 40 unique web pages. After finalizing the UX, they started development. They addressed issues, took feedback, and ensured that we loved the solution! They always corrected us when we went in the wrong direction, even when it resulted in more work for them.
What was the team composition?
Their project manager was of the most diligent one I've ever worked with. We also had several UI/UX designers and developers.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Unfortunately, since our website isn't yet live, I can't comment.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We worked remotely, but never encountered the issues that typically arise in such an engagement. Our interactions were minimal, yet so effective. They moved without much coordination from us, using Invision for UX wireframes and Figma for UI representation.
They shared links that allowed us to review, monitor, and comment in real time, so there were absolutely no barriers. The project manager constantly followed up with us for content or feedback. It was overwhelming to see their inherent sense of responsibility and ownership.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I appreciated their commitment to delivering good work. They excelled at delivering on time, improving quality based on our feedback, handling all our requests with the utmost professionalism, and explaining everything from a UI/UX perspective.
Are there any areas for improvement?
They could pay a tiny bit more attention to detail, but that may have been lacking because of the vast scope of work.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Nujam Technologies.
What challenge were you trying to address with onething.design?
We needed a vendor to develop the UX/UI elements for one of our products. We needed the interface to be appealing to customers in our region.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Following an agile methodology, the onething.design team created a series of designs from scratch. We would brief their team on what we were looking for, and they’d come back with sketches. Then, we converted those into wireframes using Sketch. After we provided feedback, onething.design made the requested changes. Once the wireframes are finalized, we’ll translate them to HTML and CSS pages.
What is the team composition?
We had a project coordinator and a team of designers.
How did you come to work with onething.design?
In searching for a design partner, we realized that many firms only provided UI services, not UX. In other words, they didn’t actually convert their designs into the actual frontend components. After looking more into onething.design’s business plan, we found that they not only created product flows but also made creative designs and converted them into frontend systems. We needed all of those services, so it was an easy decision to choose them over other providers.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $15,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with them from around July–October 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The product is about to be released, so I don’t have any quantitative metrics. With that said, onething.design has had a positive impact on our company. They’ve helped us present our product in an understandable and universally appealing manner. If we showed it to 100 people, I’m sure that 90 of them would say it’s accessible and easy to follow.
How did onething.design perform from a project management standpoint?
They were proactive in terms of communication. They reached out through a variety of channels, including phone, email, and video conferencing tools. They followed every workflow and timeline we set up for them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They offer a unique blend of services, which is extremely valuable. It’s an end-to-end option for clients looking to design and implement UX/UI elements. In general, their work is fantastic—not just for me, but for other clients as well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They should stay on top of new technology and continuously try to learn new ways to improve their services. I think they’re already doing this, but more research couldn’t hurt. Other than that, I don’t think they have any clear weaknesses.

We already had a couple of products in mind, including wireframes for how they should function, and needed someone to carry out the designs.
What was the scope of their involvement?
onething.design created completely new products for us based on the mockups I made using Balsamiq. I had page-by-page descriptions, and they helped us with the style guide, determining how each of those pages should look and making the entire interface a bit easier to use.
They also developed the frontend pages of our site using HTML, which we gave to another developer to incorporate on the backend.
What is the team composition?
We worked with 3–4 people from their team.
How did you come to work with onething.design?
I’ve known one of their co-founders from when we worked together while I was working on the Digital Products for a television broadcaster. He reached out when he started onething.design and the portfolio he shared showed that they had the capabilities to do what we required. While we did have a process for vetting UI/UX designers, onething.design had the most modern, user-friendly, and clean designs out of all the people we reached out to.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in August 2017, and they finished the UX by December of that year. The technical backend was done by another company, and it took a lot of time. Their deliverables are completed. However, with the new GDPR developments, we need to ensure that the product is compliant with the prevailing and likely data protection norms. Product fidelity and its credibility is of primary importance.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve showcased the designs to our management team, and the feedback is really good. If we didn’t like a certain page or interaction, onething.design would be open to reiterations till we were satisfied with the result.
How did onething.design perform from a project management standpoint?
They could’ve done better in this regard, but they were good enough. They had one person coordinating the project, but because of the nature of the product, we had to keep taking feedback from various stakeholders and implement the same. As such, the project timeline got a little stretched, going past August and into September–October. This wasn’t onething.design’s fault, though.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their clarity of thought was noteworthy. They were very attentive to the brief, and I loved their modern and elegant designs. I wanted a clean-cut look, and they catered to that. Some designers can be really stubborn about their work and don't want to make any changes, but I didn’t have this problem with onething.design. They were flexible in addressing feedback.
Are there any areas they could improve?
onething.design has just recently launched an online tracking portal. If they would’ve had it during our project, it would’ve helped keep things more transparent. I didn’t know what the designers were working on all the time, and I’m sort of a micromanager.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
It’s important to clearly present a brief and be open about what’s needed from the team. Introducing the tracking portal has been helpful for us, and I definitely think it should be used by other clients so that they know what the designers are working on. Inputs should be shared as regularly as possible so that they don’t add up in the end.
Stakeholders have enjoyed working with the vendor, and they anticipate positive results once the app is released. In particular, onething.design excels at solving design challenges. Their accessibility, responsible work ethic, and prompt communication have been appreciated.
