Philosophy We are convinced that good architecture is born from an understanding of the place and a correct response to the functional program. Each project must have its own personality and not be born in a predetermined way, and finding that personality is the work of Olalquiaga Arquitectos in constant communication with the client. We seek to achieve the highest design and construction quality, within programmatic and budgetary rationality. We always think of projects as an idea with the purpose of materializing. It is built from the first conversation with the client, the first visit to the site or the first sketch. Trajectory At Olalquiaga Arquitectos, based in Madrid, we work on the building, urban planning, and interior design projects, both in the public and private sectors. We carry out architecture and urban planning projects and consultancies both in Spain and abroad, such as the Urban Action in Playas del Este in Havana, Cuba; the Development of the New Tourist Pole on the South Coast of the State of Sinaola, in Mexico; a tower block in Bucharest, Romania. a residential building in Key Biscayne in Florida, United States, or a 20-storey tower for apartments in Recife, Brazil. Olalquiaga Arquitectos has been involved, in collaboration with Dionisio Hernández Gil, in the transformation of the Prado Museum, one of the most important art galleries in the world. We carry out the remodeling of the Prado roofs. In the residential area, we built 160 rental homes for young people in the emblematic Ecobulevar, Vallecas (COAM 2014 Award), Pologardens Urbanization in Sotogrande (Cádiz), Homes in Mirasierra and Puerta de Hierro. We have won several awards in both national and international competitions and have been published in various magazines. Since 2016 we have incorporated the BIM methodology in our projects, leading the new change in the construction industry.
