I developed an interest in international affairs during my first experience abroad as a university student in Montpellier, France. Living abroad made me realize that I wanted to utilize my understanding of the French language to foster cross-cultural communication. After graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in French and Anthropology, I served as a US Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Benin.
