I’m the director of the Drive Smarter Platform at Cedar Electronics. We’re a technology company that owns Escort Radar and Cobra Electronics. We create innovative solutions to enhance safety, awareness, and connectivity for people on the move.

What challenge were you trying to address with The Norm?

We needed help with application design, development, and DevOps.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The Norm has helped us overhaul our app design, reflow our customer journey, and make significant UX improvements on the apps and supporting software. Any change we make to the UI/UX is accompanied by insights from The Norm. The team is embedded in our definition process up to the actual execution.The Norm has provided UI designs in Figma, prototypes, and wireframes.

The Norm is part of the organization I currently use for application design, development, and DevOps.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent less than $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The Norm has improved our app rating from 1.3 stars to 4.8 stars. Our revenue has grown from $0 to the low six figures, and our customer retention has increased from 2% to 13% after 60 days. The team has also created a monetization flow and a flawless UI/UX experience.

How did The Norm perform from a project management standpoint?

The Norm delivers on time and within budget. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The Norm operates like they’re part of our internal team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

The Norm took us through the whole process, from understanding our company deeply to analyzing our customers. The team listened to our wishes and came up with an amazing design that captured our needs. The Norm delivered wireframes, models, and a prototype.

The Norm had many employees in the meetings every time.

It was a bit difficult at times because there were so many people, and sometimes there was an awkward silence. Some of them were also quite hard to understand.
