Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

NGS built automated testing suites on the C#/.NET/SQL Server technology stack, with high quality reusable automated test harnesses which support automated unit, system, performance, and load test harnesses and modules.  NGS participated with all our stake holders and understand the our requirement and provided more than 4 different approaches and given us option to choose according to our company's standard and preference.  

NGS helped in automating our complex Tax software. NGS helped in Performance testing which handles millions of tax returns at the same time with more than 10X load of current production. NGS helped in security testing by identifying current vulnerabilities, resolving and provided a framework which will help to scan and rescue  vulnerabilities.

Leadership, management and support of a distributed team of software testers working for BBC Children’s and Education. The regular review and update of testing approaches and strategies to align with a varied portfolio of products; Websites (for CBBC, CBeebies and Bitesize), Games (both web hosted and in-app) and Children’s Apps (the award winning Storytime and Playtime Island, amongst others). 

Iteration on testing strategy to support the new landscape of apps within BBC Children’s and Education, encompassing a migration to a web-first PWA approach. 

• Line management of a scaled team of testers, both permanent and contract
• Mentoring and training reportees in all aspects of testing, technical and soft skills
• Being a strong, vocal presence for testing and QA culture across the department, aligning with organisational engineering strategies
• Formulation and iterative review of test strategy across the varied BBC product portfolio.
• Security testing and vulnerabilities - working with Infosec and Architecture teams to resolve identified vulnerabilities reported on products - particularly for backend services and APIs.
• Stakeholder management across the wider business, plus test consultancy to teams who do not have defined testing resource
• Test contractor resource management

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

NGS helped to drive engineering quality across our product portfolio, instilling confidence in our releases.

Our products as a result were of a measurable higher quality, allowing our teams to focus their time on further developments and iterations.

I was regularly impressed with the communication from NGS. Updates were clear, concise, and whenever further clarifiation might have been needed this was immediately provided. This was seen across email, messaging and in person updates, as well as a great presence in virtual meetings.

NGS worked with us rather than for us and allowed us to deliver quality at a high speed.

I would love to see NGS continue to build out their team to allow us to further collaborate in other areas. I would be more than happy to do so given the competence and excellence they brought to our deliveries.
