A subsidiary of Emigrant Bank, NYPF provides medium-term funding for strategic investments by entrepreneurs who wish to use private equity and other illiquid investment assets as collateral. The structure provided by NYPF -- unique amongst institutional offerings -- enables entrepreneurs to contribute cash equity into deals or existing companies for a wide variety of strategic purposes, including to fund growth strategies, make acquisitions or new investments, buy out partners, or obtain more attractive overall financing. In many cases, our facilities are viewed as a non-dilutive alternative to corporate mezzanine or private equity capital. Our deals are highly customized and tailored to the unique characteristics of each transaction, and include a participating interest ("shadow equity") component in the investment(s) being made which serves to align our interests with the client as well as reduce near-term cash burn.
