A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO at Speed Digital.
What challenge were you trying to address with Network Redux?
We were looking to improve our cloud infrastructure. It had gotten to the point where it was completely unorganized, and it cost us quite a bit to manage those services. We were also using AWS, and they were calling us a lot. We needed someone to help us get our arms around it.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we did a gap analysis to identify bottlenecks and where we weren’t optimizing some of the services that we were using. Some areas were quite bloated. The team then provided a detailed report with their recommendations.
What is the team composition?
Their setup involves assigning a project manager. Three engineers are attached to our account. They also have support individuals as well.
How did you come to work with Network Redux?
I interviewed several companies. There were a few Amazon partners that came recommended that I did meet with. I did a Google search and came across Network Redux. After meeting with their owner, I decided to go with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay $3,500 a month. In total, that’s roughly $28,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement with Network Redux started in January 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were paying $20,000 a month for AWS, and now, we’re saving about $7,000 a month.
How did Network Redux perform from a project management standpoint?
We primarily use Slack. There’s also a ticketing system that we use. I can open a ticket, and they’ll assign an engineer to it. We can keep track of particular line items.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The thoroughness of their engineers sets them apart. I’ve had them create a new architecture for a few of our applications. Whenever they create those or perform an analysis, they provide detailed reports that explain exactly what it is to be found and what their solution is. Their engineering and documentation have been the most impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They’re based in a different time zone, so sometimes the engineer may or may not be available. If there is an emergency, we can get a hold of them. At first, I didn’t know the extent of that because there’s always going to be someone. But we’ve been available to mitigate that through communicating.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If they have an understanding of how their infrastructure works, customers will be successful. Often, folks will outsource when their company doesn’t have the resources for growth.
I have an understanding, so I’m able to be more effective. It would help to have someone who understands DevOps somewhat to be successful.
Again, I think they’re a strong company. They provide documentation that spells everything out. Even if you don’t have the right exposure, you can still follow along.
The service cut costs for the client. The team at Network Redux is skilled, detail-oriented, and communicative. Their efficiency complemented their professional management style.
