Named Agency is a Cape Town consultancy that does one thing: Answer Engine Optimization (AEO). We get businesses named by AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude — at the moment a buyer asks one of them who to hire.
Most agencies still optimise for Google's ranked list of links. That list matters less every quarter. Buyers now describe what they need to an assistant, get back a short recommendation, and act on it — often without opening a single website. If the assistant doesn't mention your business, you're not on the shortlist, and you never learn you were left off. AEO is the work of becoming the answer, not just a result on page one.
How we work:
Diagnosis. We ask the major assistants the questions your buyers ask, and record exactly how each one describes you — or names a competitor instead. You get a plain-English AI Visibility Report Card showing where you stand.
Setup. A focused, one-time engagement: sharper positioning a model can repeat accurately, verifiable proof it can cite, structured data across your site, and answer pages written to be quoted. This is the work that makes a business legible to a language model.
Retainer. AI answers shift week to week. On an optional monthly basis we track your visibility, publish the content the models are reaching for, and keep you in the shortlist.
We work with reputation-built businesses across South Africa and Eswatini — firms that grew on referrals and now need to hold that reputation inside AI answers. Our core focus is accounting and advisory firms; the same approach fits other reputation-built service businesses, including architects, builders and coaches.
