The firm, founded in December 1964 by James W.H. Murdoch, Architect began as a single principal practice. In January of 1969, James Murdoch and John K. Large formed a partnership & operated under the firm name Murdoch Large Associates until the partnership was dissolved by mutual consent in June of 1974. The practice reverted to its original name until incorporation in July of 1982.
In January of 2002, Malcolm Boyd & Greg Murdock became partners & changed the name to Murdock & Boyd Architects.
