BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of Manta Health, a health and wellness company primarily selling a newly-designed foam roller. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Morrama?

I had a more functional foam roller design, but I didn’t have any experience transforming an idea to be an actual product. I needed help with branding and product design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, I had a call with Morrama to see if the idea I had was useful. After that, we had another meeting, and we talked about the product and what we needed to do to get it to the prototype level.

Morrama then helped me locate a manufacturer in China, and we worked together until we had a final product.

Once we had a sample that was closest to the final, Morrama helped us with branding. They came up with five different branding options, and I chose from those what I thought worked and what didn’t. 

Morrama then put together a brand guidelines booklet. Their work was focused on the aesthetic of our product — its font, logo, look, and feel. However, they also helped us formulate our company values.

They spent a lot of time talking with us to find out who we were as a business and who our target audience was. They didn’t just bring back one branding option. They gave me five options, and it was up to me to finalize and choose which I liked the most. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with Jo (Founder), Ben (Product Designer), and Andy (Associate Director).

How did you come to work with Morrama?

I found them through a Google search. They were quite new at the time, and I liked the idea of supporting a new company. Additionally, they were offering discounts to startups.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent around £7,000 (approximately $10,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from January–July 2018. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Morrama helped me start my sales process. Before working with them, I only had a drawing; afterward, I had 1,000 units of a product. They accomplished everything I wanted them to do and came up with a good brand that I really liked. We were even voted as the year’s best product in a magazine. 

Our audience liked the product’s aesthetic. Morrama did an excellent job of creating something tasteful, trendy, and modern. Additionally, the design wasn’t so niched that it would block our ability to expand. 

How did Morrama perform from a project management standpoint?

Morrama did well in project management. They were organized, and the only delays we had were due to outside forces, such as our partners in China. However, Morrama was on it throughout the process. Their ability to stick to schedule and budget was on point. 

We communicated through emails and in-person meetings. The process was very personal and collaborative. They were very good at applying their branding ideas to our industry and niche.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Morrama had a really wide skillset, and their senior management had experience in quite a wide range of industries. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Start as early as possible. You don’t need to have a full-fledged idea; just go to the starting point, and they will guide you very well. However, be prepared to spend money on the project.
