I’m the managing technical director of TestCal Plus.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Morehouse Force?

We brought them on to do all of our calibrations because our assets have to be calibrated on an annual basis. We also purchased assets from them.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

When we go to a customer, we have to take our master equipment and then recalibrate the customer’s equipment against our master equipment. One of our pieces of equipment was a big 20-twenty-pound box. Morehouse Force suggested that the whole box be converted to a very small box through new technology. The new box would be as big as an iPhone.

Our engagement isn’t so much project-based as it is an ongoing effort. We send the details to our sales rep, they give us a quote, and then we send the equipment to Morehouse Force. Then, they do the calibrations and send it back to us.

What is the team composition?

We work with a sales representative and a project manager on occasion.

How did you come to work with Morehouse Force?

I worked with them when I was at a previous company. I was aware of their reputation and team members. I went directly to them because they’re trustworthy and knowledgeable.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in October 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was very pleased with the work to take our 20-pound box and make it into a box that can be handheld. Using this type of technology allowed us to capture the data automatically through our laptop because Morehouse Force has their own software that connects to the small box. That improved the quality and time; we’re much faster in doing the calibrations.

How did Morehouse Force perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through email, texts, and phone calls. They allocated a project manager that jumps in when customers request a tool that measures the force of the testing systems.

There was one project manager who wasn’t as technically competent as we would’ve liked. I made this aware to Morehouse Force, and they replaced that person. Our current project manager is great. He knows the terminology and field very well. Everything runs smoothly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They make everything themselves or purchase it from another US-based vendor so this allows for a one- or two-day turnaround.

Are there any areas they could improve?        

They should make sure to always hire technical people who are familiar with the concepts and jargon.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Morehouse Force is a leader in the industry. They use the highest quality of equipment to calibrate. Use them.
